I've been going to Visual Image for about 8 months now. My stylist is Sanjay ... and I have to say I absolutely love him!!! He always listens to what I want and gives me exactly that. I have super thick and wavy hair ... This man is my miracle worker!!! I will never leave him!!! To top it off the salon offers other great services ... and everyone is super friendly!!! Worth the money!!!!!!

My stylist chatted with other stylists and clients, but didn't really talk to me and so gave me a cut that I don't know how to work with and that doesn't work for me. When she did bother to talk to me, she was insulting and rude. (I saw her twice, so I don't think it was just a bad day.) If that is representative of their service I don't want to go there again. I wrote a letter to the salon and left a voice mail with the manager letting them know it was due to that service that I am no longer a client. Three weeks later and no response. If Visual Image wants to grow its business, they should learn how to cultivate clients. Don't waste your time or your money.

Pros: Good ambiance, the reception staff are very helpful and give a great first impression

Cons: The management staff does not seem to monitor the stylists that represent the company.

This would have been my third time at Visual Image. I quite like the place and usually go to Visual Image for my hair cuts. I requested an appointment with the stylist Sanjay (which was a week away) and passed up appointment with other stylists which was available within 2 days. On the day of the appointment, I was told Sanjay was sick and that I could reschedule with someone else. Since I had waited that long to get Sanjay to cut my hair, I thought I'd wait for his next appointment. I got a Friday at 6pm. I took it. On Friday, I was stuck badly in traffic and called to inform them that I would be about 10-15 minutes late. But traffic was really really bad and I got there 25 minutes late. But when I reached Visual Image, they said they couldn't take my appointment. I told them I drove a long distance, but there was nothing the stylist was willing to do. The stylist was not willing to make up for the fact that he canceled an appointment because he called sick. I told them that they should have told us on the phone right then that cannot take the appointment if I was more than 15 minutes late. I would have turned back then rather than drive all the way to find out that they were not taking my appointment. They had nothing to say to that. They did nothing to accomodate a customer who quickly wrapped up her work Friday evening and drove in crazy traffic to get there. The fact that I waited that long to get my hair cut from Sanjay didn't seem to matter. I was bummed. Sanjay saw me at the reception, but didn't seem to bother. Overall, the experience left me disappointed.

I've been searching all over to find a stylist I would return to again & again. I heard about Visual Image from a friend & she recommended her stylist Elyssa. I have to drive from San Ramon to Fremont to go to her, so it's quite a distance just for a cut. I loved my hair after I went to her the first time. When my next cut was due, I wasn't sure I wanted to drive the distance again. But after I went a 2nd time, I was so glad I went to her again. My hair in straight & fine & most stylists don't know what to do with this kind of hair. The last lady I went to at StyleX (San Ramon) told me not much can be done with it, it's just the way it is. But Elyssa seems to know just what to do to make my hair feel lighter & fuller by creating lots of layers. She's very meticulous too, even after she's already styled it, she rechecks the hair to make sure it's even & will trim off anything stray.

Pros: Professional well trained stylists & staff, modern & clean

Cons: Far for me, a bit pricey, otherwise none

I made an appt. for color and cut and was scheduled with a "Stylist I". I was a little hesitant but I LOVE my hair. Victoria is awesome. The color is fantastic and the cut was exactly what I wanted. She listened to me, and far exceeded my expectations. Definetly worth the $$ and I am going back.

Pros: Parking, Staff

Cons: $$

I LOVE Sanjay. I can't say enough about him. I walk out each time feeling like a beauty queen. I just sit down and let him decide what will look good on me and how to cut my hair. He takes his time and gets it perfect. I walk out amazingly beautiful. I've tried other stylists here and he is by far the best. I've been looking for years for someone who can really see what will suit me best. He has a vision. A lot of stylists would cut my hair nicely, but it wouldn't really look different. And it was always just a slight deviation from what I had. Sanjay would make me look completely different each visit! I absolutely love him. HOWEVER, I also get my 6 year old daughter's hair cut there. I won't go back because each time I bring my 2 children, the manager just harps on me to keep them quiet. They are no loud kids, and there is music playing anyway. But, at $50 for a 6 year old haircut, he ought to be a lot more polite to me. The last time, there were no other clients waiting in the waiting area, but he got mad at my kids laughing. So, I won't be back. But, I have paid the price. I need to find someone new to do my hair!

Pros: Sanjay is stellar.

Cons: Some stylists not so good, even tho said master rated. Don't bring kids!!

I had been going to Visual Image for over a year. Because I was impatient in waiting for my appointment to get my regular cut (stupid me), I decided to check out another salon that is highly rated on this website. Well, let's just say I made an expensive mistake and my hair paid the price for it. At my next appointment at Visual Image, my regular stylist cut and shaped hair back into shape and I received several compliments that same day. I will stay with my regular stylist at Visual Image. It's worth every penny that I spend and I leave the salon happy knowing that I am receiving a great haircut each time!

Pros: Great haircuts, Easy parking , Friendly staff

I've been waiting a helluva LONG time to get the hairstyle that fits me and my lifestyle. I've spent a helluva lot of money doing it. AT LAST! I've FINALLY found a Salon that not only w/ perfection cut/colored/styled my hair, but also took care of those that waited for me. Everyone that works there are EXTREMELY kind, patient, and very people-orientated. My stylist, Shawna, is an awesome stylist. She took as much time as needed to make sure that every little detail came out the way i wanted. Her talent & experience were very evident in my end result. I love the atmosphere, people, and the products. I TOTTALY recommend this salon to all those who are a little scared about getting their hair done or who may not be sure of what they want. This place will ease your fears and calm your nerves. THANK YOU GUYS!!

Pros: Atmosphere, Trained in Razor cuts, Bumble & Bumble

Cons: Can Be pricey, but ALL worth it!

I reviewed on here a year ago and gave Visual Image the best review. After going to Visual Image for over a year and 1/2 now, I figured it was time to give a more updated review. Visual Image is an excellent salon.. their stylists are all very well-trained. If you're really trendy and you want the best, boldest hairstyle, please go to Visual Image! I got so many compliments on my hair on a daily basis from all sorts of random women. People constantly ask me what salon I go to. Ruthie, in particular, gives really great, bold styles. However, I am switching to a different salon. The stylists just kept going bolder and bolder with my hair and it was just getting too crazy for me. Right now I have these crazy bright red streaks mixed in with my blonde and it's just really too much for me; if I was 16 I'd love it, but I'm 25 and I think I'm a little old to have my hair like this. I switched to a few different stylists and it was always so awkward for my old stylist to see me with a new stylist. They would always give me catty looks. But sorry, if a stylist isn't going to listen to me and give me what I want, I'm not going to continue service with them. I'm switching to Avalon Spa & Salon because I've heard great reviews from some of their customers. I'm hoping to go back to normal hair. Warning: do not book yourself for a haircut/haircolor with a lower level stylist on a Saturday morning! The salon is so crowded on Saturdays that the stylists wind up fighting over the bowls to rinse out color treatment. If you're with a lower level stylist, you're at the bottom of the list to get your haircolor rinsed out. And sometimes the lower level stylists have to have their clients sitting in front of a mirror in an office chair instead of at their own station! How embarrassing!! I'm glad I was never one of those clients.

Pros: Very well trained, great hair products

Cons: Cost keeps going up

If you are ever in a desperate need for a haircut, Sanjay is the man to go to. He took the time to ask me questions, what I wanted out of my haircut, lifestyle, etc. The haircut he gave me is very natural and sexy, which looks good both styled and unstyled. He also gave me tips on how to keep my hair healthy and shiny! Will definitely go back to him!
