User Reviews for Stonebrook Convalescent Center

The first full day my husband stayed in the hospital, I was called to make discharge arrangements for the next day. I was given 20 minutes to choose. I had no idea what SNF (skilled nursing facility) to pick from the list my HMO gave me as "covered by my insurance". Thank goodness, the Citysearch review was accurate. Stonebrook smells good, the food is fine, the staff is pleasant and attentive, and there is physical therapy on-site. I was very happy with it, especially after I visited my other choices which were awful. Even dogs are allowed to visit which was a very happy thing for us. The grounds are pleasant, coffee is always available during the day, and there is enough staff to cover the people there. It wasn't depressing or totally elderly. My husband is 61 and was there following an accident, not some major physical melt-down. They paid as much attention to him as to someone in more dire circumstances. Medication was carefully monitored, but they also asked him what he needed and wanted. Sometimes communication got tangled and I had to make sure that conflicts were resolved (PT at the same time as an assisted shower) but the staff was very responsive. This is the only place on my HMO's list that I would actually want to go, if necessary.

Pros: Professional, attentive staff and nice-smelling, clean setting.

Cons: Parking can be gnarly at some times of the day.

I am only 59 years old so I took notice of how things run there, and I will tell you this, if I had to go to one of these pleacses this is the one for me.

Pros: all good
