I have lived here for over a year now. While the location is incredible (next to Alameda beach, a park, and shopping) the shoddy construction, the noise and cigarette smoke from other balconies is quite disturbing. The stench from my downstairs chain smoking neighbor has gotten so bad, I can't even have my windows open. Keep in mind I have a one bedroom apartment, and the unit has only 1 window and 1 screen door...no air conditioning. My allergies (to cigarette smoke and cancer in general) are making me so sick I'm in the process of terminating my lease. Plus, the noise here is tremendous. I can hear my upstairs neighbor walking from one end of the apartment to the other, not to mention everyone's television well into the night. I've complained to management about the smoke and the noise issues, but they have done absolutely nothing to address this issue. My advice...if you like a noisy, cigarette smoke filled apartment- this is the one for you! If you like a good night's sleep and hate breathing in carcinogenic smoke- find some place else to live.
