I have gotten my eyebrows waxed by two different ladies at this establishment and have been quite pleased with the outcome. I enjoyed both personalities as well as the service that they provided. I understand that Nadia has left this spa and I would like to get ahold of her. It doesn't mean that I'd quit using the services at The Estiticians, however I'd like to get ahold of Nadia as well. If anyone has a phone number or email address for her, please forward it to me at Grooviemaddie@yahoo (dot com of course. It doesn't let you type it the regular way). Thanks!

Pros: Quiet, clean, serene environment, talented people

Cons: Staff attitude seems a bit short/edgy sometimes

I love this place. I got a great wax and it lasted a very long time. i am very happy to recomend this place to anyone. I will recomened it with a smile planted on my face.

Pros: Parking,and the repsepshnist is so kind. my favorite is Sandy. she is so nice she always has a great smile on her face

So I am new to the area and have been looking for a great place to get my Brazilians. I have tried a few of the places reviewed here on Citysearch but have so far felt only so-so about them. That is until I went to this place! After reading the reviews I decided to try it out. This place was beyond great! I cannot for the life of me remember who did my waxing (I am HORRIBLE with names), but she was beyond thorough...no stray hairs anywhere, and the pain factor was pretty mild considering what she was doing to me ;)! The woman at the front desk was great, and when I mentioned that I was looking for a place to get my hair done, she gave me a reference. Apparently all the girls there get their hair cut by the same person. There were some other employees in the lobby waiting for their appointments to come and they gave me some tips on good local resteraunts, etc. I cannot believe how friendly everyone was...you just can't find that anymore! The lobby was a little cramped but comfortable and the music was a nice change of pace! No irritating elevator/new agey/crap music going on here...they were playing a good mix of salsa and swing. That was a very pleasant change of pace. The only negative I can possibly think of, and I'm stretching here, is that you cannot leave tips on your credit card. So make sure to bring cash for that part of the deal! Great place, great people, great waxing...I am SO going back!!!

Pros: wonderful friendly staff, parking, good music, wonderful service

Cons: can't leave tip on credit cards...cash or check only. Is that really a con though?

I have been going to The Estheticians for more than five years and cannot recall one bad experience. The personnel is friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable and the facility is clean and inviting. Take some time to browse through their collection of skin and hair care products, candles, cards, jewelry, lingerie, baby gifts, etc. Everything they stock is fabulous and offered at reasonable prices. Treatments are reasonably priced too. FYI: The receptionist will do their best to squeeze you in for an appointment, but this place books up fast! Fav Treatment: Enzyme Facial with an Alpha Beta Peel. Fav Technician: Nadia, but EVERYONE is wonderful!

Pros: Excellent staff; relatively painless waxing treatments

Cons: They only accept tips in cash; parking can be tight on weekends

Recently relocated here from Florida, always takes some trial & error to find good estheticians. I stumbled upon The Estheticians in San Mateo & made an appt. with Nadia. She is very professional & did an impeccable job with my bikini & eyebrow wax. Absolutely no redness. I am looking forward to scheduling my facial with her in the near future. Kudos!

I have been a regular client of the Estheticians for almost 30 years and I have had nothing but EXCELLENT service during this time. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my waxing, facials or relaxing massages. The staff is courteous, professional and extremely skilled. I always leave feeling completely pampered - and for a great price!

Pros: professional and knowledgable personnel, private atmosphere and excellent services

I have been waxing for the last 15 years and I have to say that this one was THE worst experience I have ever had in the last 15 years. The girl was inexperienced and she was nervous. I tried to be as nice as possible but I was in pain. I had rashes on my skin for the next 3-4 days and I could not were pants cuz it'd hurt. I have a person that I usually go to and she's great. I just had to go to them cuz my person was on vacation. Be careful, I gave you the warning.

After doing tons of research and reading the rave reviews here, I went in for my first Brazilian waxing recently. Let's be frank here - it's not a pleasant thing to have done. You've got a stranger face-to-face with areas usually seen only by one's Ob-Gyn and intimate partners. Throw in hot wax and hairs being torn out by their roots in one of the most sensitive areas of the body, and you're got a party. All of that said, I'm now hooked! I saw Angela and she was extremely quick and personable. She made it as pain-free as a Brazilian waxing can be. It's a women-only salon, so you don't have to worry about a man peeking in from the hallway. The rest of the staff were very courteous, too.

Pros: Clean, Friendly staff, Reputable

Cons: Small parking lot

Working full time and raising a family leaves little time for "me". I can always count on The Estheticians Skin Care Center to go above and beyond at my appointment time. giving me their complete attention, answering my questions and of course, pampering me! Whether I am on a lunch break or after work, I know that my services - they do it all for me: facials, peels, waxing & of course a massage - will be the best in town. I also can have a custom gift prepared & wrapped while I am being pampered. The best haven for women in San Mateo is definately The Estheticians!

I read all the online raves about this place and decided to call up for an appt for a facial. I have tried many day spas in the Bay Area , and The Estheticians wins my vote--hands down! Glen (the owner) is genuine, down-to-earth, doesn't push for any products that customers don't need. I've spent tons of money on products that estheticians push, and Glen is the first person that advised me to not buy anything that I didn't need!! He actually sent me away after my first trip with no charge, and I walked away with some skincare samples that I just loved and couldn't wait to buy ! Most importantly, when I returned for my appt a week later for a facial, my skin looked so radiant and so smooth right after the facial. He has magic hands!! SM

Pros: Friendly Staff, Super Clean, Great Results!
