great pizza in a city that lacks great pizza. I go there all the time and have never received bad service
- Cons: parking but who cares
Sicilian-style slices, loud music and a pierced and tattooed staff distinguish this North Beach pizzeria.
by Contributor
In Short
Loud music is usually playing at this small North Beach spot, much to the enjoyment of the hipster staff. The walls of the dining room are covered with photographs, stickers and various oddments. Slices and whole pies come Sicilian style with a thick crust and a variety of toppings. A house specialty is the clam, parsley and garlic pizza.
Great Pizza, Poor Service
by wtyyip
They do have the best pizza in town, but their service is really slow (the staff don't really care there's a long line waiting and just take their time, it's either they don't care or they're stoned). But I would still put up with the bad service for a good slice!
- Pros: Great Pizza
- Cons: Poor Service
Best pizza in S.F.
by shoegal84
Great little place to grab a slice of pizza (or 3) alone, or after having drinks in Borth Beach (although they close before 2).
I love, love, LOVE this pizza. Anytime someone comes to S.F. to visit me I bring them here and they end up loving it as much as I do.
I'm all about the sauce, and this place does it right. The cheese and teh combo are my favorites! Also, I don't know what people mean about the rude service, I have NEVER once had rude service! Everyone who works there seems really nice and attentive.
- Pros: Pizza!!
- Cons: Small area, limited seats.

I'ved lived in north beach all my life, but now I've moved out of the area and I miss golden boy pizza. Its unique and great. Some of the best pizza I've had. I agree with some other reviews that the service isn't excellent but the pizza does make up for it.
I like my PIZZA without the ATTITUDE

I work in North Beach and refuse to eat at Golden Boy due to poor service and just plain old RUDENESS. If the service at a pizza joint isn't friendly the least it can be is prompt and this place is lacking in both departments...They should can the rude employees...they make me gag on my mozzarella!
good pizza, bad employees

Went to 11th Annual North Beach Jazz Fest in Wash. Square Park on Sunday. Shows ended at 7pm. Looked forward to GB's yummy pizza all day. Waited in line for over 30 minutes with many other people. Waiting after bar close is tradition, but was surprised they weren't prepared. Finally some pizzas come out and we get to the cashier with the last two pepperoni pieces left and order them. Right then, the guy working there took those last two pieces, boxed them up and stashed them away. The girl said, "oh, I guess you can't have those", and we were NOT happy. They "didn't know" when the next one would come out. So wrong. You can't steal someone's pizza in front of them for your friends! He rather nastily gave us a choice of two cheese or clam (yuck) for free, but it didn't make up for the rudeness.
- Pros: pretty good pizza
- Cons: hateful staff

GB is the BEST pizza
by kevinshill
It can't be beat, it's the best pizza this side of Zachary's (in the E.Bay).
It's just great pizza by all accounts, and I always take visitors and out-of-towners there. The fact that it's cheap and has a cool atmosphere is icing on the cake.
- Pros: VERY tasty pizza, eat for cheap, casual atmosphere
