The first time I found this place (over 10 years ago), I followed my nose! My friend and I were walking in Chinatown and followed the delicious smells eminating from Nanking for 4 blocks before finding the line out the door. We waited to get in and I'm so glad we did! This is my favorite place to take out of town guests for a SF experience. Let Peter (the owner) decide what to send you- just tell him how hungry you are. Everything is really tasty and cheap!
Pros: good food, fun experience
Cons: sometimes long wait
