Highly Mediocre!
by seandugan at Citysearch
Not worth your time, or money. Average at best. I had the so-called "braised" mahi, and it was more like "mahi soup." Very small portions, very "foo foo" menu. Didn't really care for the place, and will never go back. The service was sporatic. The bar was okay. I can't see how anyone could say this is a great restaurant.
The blonde hostess was cute and courteous though.
Stunning

I can't get enough of this place. I've been there more than 20 times, and everything is always fantastic. And the staff is the best I've seen in the city: friendly, accomodating, and well trained.
- Pros: Fresh Fish, Wonderful Staff, Outside Seating
An acquired taste
by Silver_and_wise at Citysearch
I've been to RP several times since the New Year began.Although initially unimpressed friends have caused me to return and I have acquired the taste. The fish is excellent(very fresh) and "...to die for" with the roasted tomated sauce. In season the corn polenta is very special.Fascinating bar scene populated by movers and wantabees.Good music with an overall fun atmosphere.Service is spotty but tries hard.
- Pros: fresh fish, atmosphere
- Cons: service, parking/valet
one of the best wine lists in sf
by kittywu at Citysearch
if you like true italian food, with balance and elegence (no sauces here) then this is the place for you. anyone who has ever been to liguria will understand the food perfectly. where else can you get wood oven roasted whole fish deboned tableside cooked to perfection? the food deserves all the attention it receives. but it is the wine list that amazes me the most. sick of california chardonnay? none by the glass here. this list is well thought out, cool, and reasonably priced. ask for recommendations and enjoy a perfect wine and food experience.
- Pros: wine list, wood oven, incredible bar
- Cons: getting a table
No complaints

I've always had a great time here. Head in for lunch and everything's good. Plus the prices are better. At night it can be a zoo, but what do you expect?
- Pros: Great menu
- Cons: Crowded at night
