Fun Bar
by sfjenna
Dive Bar???? That last chick who made that comment must be used to the more upscale places where it is more expensive. This is a sports bar for crying out loud, not a romantic bar for a date! But she had a good time I guess. I have been a regular in the Bus Stop for many years. I know the staff and the other regulars pretty well. The reason the regulars like it there? The atmosphere and the friendly staff. There are good Happy Hour specials at 4-6 pm, and each day has a different special. There are more tvs in this bar than anywhere else I have seen. There are two pool tables in the back, and cue stick lockers. Now where else will you find cue stick lockers? I have mine in there with my hubby's. The place is well kept, and has a lot of wood finish which gives it a warm atmosphere. They have a cool jukebox which is on Wi-Fi so you can play just about any song! There are several places you can order food from which deliver too! Dive by my a**!!!!
- Pros: Great pool and drink special, and sports on tv
- Cons: Parking not easy!
Great place for drink specials

My boyfriend took me to Bus Stop on our first date (I know, how romantic haha), but it was so fun! We played games like liars dice and cards (provided by the bar) all night and got drunk off of their bucket of beer deal and cheap margaritas. We have been going at least twice a month ever since. It's our "go to" place when we want to go out in the Marina. We just went last Friday and got sloshed (by accident) on their My Thais (sp?). It was a great, casual place to meet up with a friend I hadn't seen in a while. We had to talk really loudly to each other to have a conversation, but that's expected at a bar on a Friday night.
- Pros: casual, low key bar with great drink deals
- Cons: dive bar-like feel
Friday nights are the best!
by frankiedoodle
I'm not sure what Mr. Wilson was looking for, but I've been a regular at the stop for a couple of years. I've always found the place to be friendly and fun. I've never seen a "beat up" "old" waitress in the place myself. I think the oldest cocktail waitress in there might be 26.
It's always crowded, and the crowd is usually friendly. I have noticed lately that there has been a more rowdy crowd the past few months, but figured it was a passing trend. Always a fun place to meet new people.
- Pros: Great drinks, Great Friday Night stop
- Cons: A newer , rowdier crowd moving in
Great Service, BEST Hi Def TV
by ecaviolo
I just moved to the city and was looking for the best local haunts... the Bus Stop is my last stop! In contradiction to Mr. Wilson's comments I found the waitress to be accommodating, funny, and HOT! This place also has about 20 TVs almost all of them flat screen high def. TVs- which of course makes the game that much better! Sit at the bar if you want, or test the waitress in the lounge. This place ROCKS!
- Pros: TVs, service, and local comfort
- Cons: No kitchen (can order in)
Great bar

This bar has great specials, chill people and is a great place to hang with friends. Highly recommended!
Marina types mingle with old-school San Franciscans, catching a game and a buzz at this quintessential sports bar.

In Short
In operation since 1900, the Bus Stop is a busy, yet friendly, place to watch a game and shoot some pool. The front bar windows overlook Union Street and are ideal for people-watching. Tables, TVs and video games fill the room, while a lone server runs the bar. Located through a back archway is a handsome billiards room, complete with two large tables and lockers for the regulars.
Best Sports Bar in the Marina
by chloe35
I agree with mwilson's comments. They were pretty accurate. The Bus Stop is the perfect mix of a Dive Bar, a Sports Bar, and a Marina Bar.
Looks like they hired some new girls though. Cute ones too.
- Pros: Variety of Games on
- Cons: Parking
A Great Neighborhood Bar....
by mwilsondawg
Bus Stop is really a great neighborhood bar, unless you are looking for female bartenders. The guys that the thend this bar have worked there for decades and will not be going anywhere soon! Great daily drink specials and they even buy pizza for the bar every day from the local joint Amici's. All they need to do is get some attractive females working in there somewhere. All of their cocktail waitresses are a complete disaster. Either old and beat up or dating someone on staff and giving horrible attitude and service to even the regular customers. Stay away from their bunk waitresses, use the bartenders only and you will have a great experience. Every time that the GIANTS win, PBR's are only 50 cents for the next half hour....
- Pros: Location, Crowd full of cute girls
- Cons: Worst cocktail waitresses in the entire city
It's Happenin'
by local_regular
When I moved back to San Francisco I found the staff at Bus Stop very friendly. I quickly made friends and became a regular patrol. I have now been visiting the establishment for 12 years. I met my husband there and we both continue to enjoy the staff, the people, the drinks and the enviroment. It's not just 20 somethings that go in there. At Happy Hour you will get the regulars who are of all ages and walks of life.
Come in, have a drink and start wonderful friendships!
- Pros: sports on tvs, good drinks, good people
