Very friendly service. Great hamburgers.

The staff was very warm and friendly. The place was very clean.

As it was our honeymoon they gave us the dessert as a gift.

The food is excellent in all aspects: the presentation, quantity, and taste.

A neon-lit trip back to the Eisenhower era comes with burgers, shakes and fries.

In Short
Vintage Coca-Cola ads and posters of Life magazine covers succinctly summon up the 1950s, as do this diner's mini-jukeboxes, red vinyl counter stools and sock-hopping staff. Besides fast food staples like hot dogs, cheeseburgers, tuna melts and onion rings, options like the Streamliner (a grilled veggie patty) acknowledge more modern dietary concerns. Even better for kids, sandwiches come wrapped in paper jackets and nearly everything is served on paper plates. No spills. No breaks. No tears.

Nice location

I used to come here late at night for dinner when I was working crazy hours in the nearby Presidio. There's a waiter who will sing "New York, New York" at the top of his lungs in the middle of the restaurant if it comes on. Sometimes he can be coaxed into it. Honestly, he makes a world of difference. Located in the heart of the Marina, it's a great place to get some chicken strips, fries and a milkshake before hitting the bars or (in my case) going back to work all night. The parking lot nearby is free late at night.

Late night treat

by DJF at Citysearch

Open later than anything else on Chestnut for dine in. Perfect to close out a night of area libations. They offer outstanding burgers, fries, onion rings, and ice creams. Open until 3am. It is a diner that delivers on every visit.

Recommend for those looking for good food without the ambiance. A decent buzz will make you forget it is a chain restaurant. Good overall value.
