Clean tasty quick mediterranean eats!

by kishorehari

Love yummas, it's my favorite mediterranean food stop in the city. Incredibly clean, great service, quaint backyard patio. Food is tasty, I especially love the shwarma wrap.

  • Pros: Great Food, Clean, Service, Cool Patio
  • Cons: Not much seating, not open late

Great lunch spot!

by randum

This is probably my favorite spot on Irving and 9th. Really good, friendly, and inexpensive lunch spot. One of few places with a backyard patio.

  • Pros: Hummus, Wraps, Plates
  • Cons: No parking

Student-priced falafel and more Middle Eastern options offer lunchtime diversity in a noodle-rich neighborhood.

In Short
Couple quality ingredients with fresh preparation and you have the keystone for a popular sandwich spot's success in a neighborhood dominated by Asian flavors. The manageable portions will leave you perfectly satisfied for lunch, and the no-frills dining room is best passed up for the small but inviting, plant-lined outdoor garden. Shwaramas, chicken wraps and lamb kebabs give an extra dose of confidence when you know the meat is naturally-fed and hormone- and antibiotic-free.

Yummy Yumma's

by lord_humongous

Yumma's is a good place to go if you're in the Sunset district looking for a shawerma. The place is very clean and they have a patio out back if you wish to dine outside. The shawermas are a little smaller than what you would get at Ali Baba's for the same price, but Yumma's seems to use fresher, crispier vegetables in their food.

  • Pros: Good food, Clean

Quality Unique Food

by sangeld

This place is small, quaint and quality. The dishes are reflective of the mediteranean/middle eastern culture and quite tasty. I had the chicken kabob with rice, eggplant & tomatoes. Such a delicious meal, at an affordable price. The service and environment really make you feel as if you are on vacation in the mediteranean.

Yumma's has something for everyone!

by EKG

My wife who hated the idea of mediterranean food now loves Yummas! Once I convinced her that there wouldn't be curry she tried it and really loved the chicken and lamb kebabs that comes with a flavorful pilaf and greek salad. I prefer the shawarma's and falafel. This place is inexpensive, the food has more flavor than one mouth can handle and you'll feel filled afterwards.

The place is a bit cramped and the parking in that part of the Sunset sucks, but this place is worth it!

  • Pros: Food tastes great, inexpensive
  • Cons: Cramped, parking sucks

Fragrant food and friendly folk

by alasnik

Yumma's is Yummy!

I went there with about 6 friends for lunch today, and was very pleased with the food and the service.

The schawarmas were spiced perfectly, and the meat...mmm... tender and juicy! And the lavash (wrapping)... grilled, not steamed, so it's lightly crispy and delicious.

The outdoor seating area is charming, and the staff is friendly.

You CAN find greater *quantities* of food for $4.95 (cost of a regular schawarma), but you'd be hard pressed to find a better overall package for your dining time and money :)

Highly recommended!

  • Pros: Tasty food, friendly service, charming outdoor area
  • Cons: Parking's awful, Can be messy to eat, Might get addicted!:D
