I love this place. It has a wonderful homey atmosphere. Nothing beats the fireplaces and tarp ceiling on the second floor. You have to order the shorts ribs... the meat falls off the bone and melt in you mouth. Not only do they have great food, it's one of the few pet friendly restaurants. There is a semi outdoor seating area where you can dine with your furry friends. They even provide water bowls on the floor. How cute is that?

we came here on a weekend night and were seated promptly. the restaurant has two floors, so there are many tables to choose from. The food was amazing and the prices were very reasonable. i would recommend taking advantage of their daily specials (especially the meatball sandwich.. YUMM!!). Our waitress was very attentive and helpful.... I've come to Park Chow many times and have always left happy.

Pros: Incredible food, prompt service, very friendly staff.

a restaurant that has good food but the service is TERRIBLE! I have been coming to this place for years now, but not until just the last few times of coming when i noticed that the service are just going downhill. This place has a lot of memories but i am not quite sure if i can take the bad service that the waitresses give. When you come in and it has been more than 5 minutes before you get your first glass of water, just expect for the worse. I love the ginger cake dessert but hope that you don't get the one that has burned buttom.

Definitely, this will be my regular restaurant. Staffs are nice and menu are decent. My favorite was Grilled Chicken! Chicken was so juicy and tender. Price is OK. Very nice atomosphere. They have kids menu as well as smaller portion. So, parents can bring children while they have good wine! This is my favorite one!

Pros: Atomosphere, Food

Cons: Not Very Cheap

I went to Park Chow with my 3 year old son and 5 month old daughter. I was not offered a booster seat for my 3 year old son but was given a coloring sheet with crayons. He sat on his knees in the chair and began coloring. He then fell off the chair and bumped his head on the ground and began to scream and cry at the top of his lungs. I quickly picked him up and felt the huge goose egg on the back of his head. No one came over to see if he was okay, if he needed ice or if there was anything they could do. I started feeling desperate and really needing to get the ice and pressure on his head but still no one even looked my way. I called someone over and said my son fell and bumped his head, please bring me some ice. The waitress then brought a cup of ice (great). I said can you bring me a cloth to put it in and she gave me a look as though I was a demanding, and dramatic customer. Finally she brought a wet rag from the bar. I asked if it was dirty and again she gave me a mean look and said no. Finally smeone brought some ice in a plastic bag but then walked away. Feeling scared for my son and completely unsupported, I put my screaming son in the stroller at which point my 5 month old also began to cry. The food had just arrived. I walked out of the restaurant and sat on a step on 9th Avenue and held the ice pack on my son's head. A few minutes later a manager came out and apologized profusely. She said she had a child and knew how scary it was for me. I was very grateful for her support until my husband came to pick us up. I hope she can coach the waiters about how to handle that type of situation Unfortunately, I just don't have a good feeling about the restaurant anymore and won't be back.

I was really excited about Park Chow. It would be my second visit and I remember the first time being just ok, so I wanted this time to be awesome. Especially since the reviews sounded so great. Positives: The decor and ambience are great. I loved the lit fireplaces, since it was a cold Sunday morning. The upstairs area has an great treehouse-like feel to it. Criticisms: 1. Someone in my party ordered a Thai noodle dish. We he got it, we realized that the noodles were spaghetti noodles. We're not experts, but we don't think they use spaghetti in Thailand. 2. Another person in my party asked if her salad came with toast. The server said no, so my friend ordered a side of toast. Her meal ended up having bread with it. What the heck? 3. The wheat toast that came with my meal was very hard and dry. 4. The portions were not very large. In fact, we went to the taqueria across the street for some tacos right after our meal. So I'm glad most people had a good experience there. We won't be going back, at least not on a Sunday morning.

Pros: Great decor and ambience

Cons: just ok food, staff wasm

We loved this place. Pastas and fish are sure pleasers!!!...They use the right amount of seasoning and spice in all of their dishes. the staff is always friendly and representative of the beautiful diversity of San Francisco. The last time we went my boyfriend had ahi tuna and I had the chicken of fusili and sausage- both were great. The pasta reminded me of a great dish my grandma used to cook when I was a little kid. the Ahi was perfectly cooked. Awesome food...but a lot of you already knew that!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: food and service

Cons: difficult parking

I attempted to book a birthday party there for a friend. We called ahead and asked for a reservation, a rude person who couldn't care less answered the phone and told us that they don't take reservations. I mentioned that this is for a birthday party for a group of 8 and that we feel it would be safer to have a reservation. The guy said, don't worry about it, they *can't* take reservation but to not worry and just come on down. Well, our party of 8 all arrive there around 7, spent half an hour trying to find parking only to find out that there is an 1.5 hour wait. We told them our story and they basically told us it's too bad, you should have made a reservation... Needless to say, we didn't stay nor never will we ever go back.

Pros: Lively area

Cons: Terrible service, Rude Stuff, Hard to find parking

I've been here numerous times. I agree that it is overrated but it is a decent place to meet friends. The only things I consistently recommend is the short-ribs and the ginger cake with spice ice cream.

Great sparerib stew. Anything asian related, I didn't like. The ginger cake and pumpkin ice cream is tasty. I would go to Park Chow just to eat that again. Overall I like the comfort food and that fact that it's reasonably priced. The service isn't consistent but it's nothing to complain about unless you're a service snob.

Pros: comfort food for reasonable price

Cons: parking, inconsistent food quality
