Simple Japanese food
by wrldtrvlr8374 at Citysearch
Dinner w/ friends on a weekday night, no wait. All the dinner meals came with soup and salad to start. I ordered the Chirashi and was a bit disappointed in the fish selection - maguro, sake, tako, and hamachi. (I'm used to getting a bit more a variety of fish.) Quantity wasn't a problem, just the fish selection was not up to par. No complaints from my dinner companions on their dining choice.
Overall, simple Japanese restaurant. No whistles or bells here, which is fine if it's simple Japanese food you're looking for. Wait staff was minimal, but friendly and decent. I would return to sample out their other dinner options.
- Pros: cozy, not overly crowded, prices decent
- Cons: chirashi only okay
Excellent, inexpensive Japanese cuisine

This is a rare find. Inexpensive but quality food in the clean and safe Sunset district. The food is great, although the fish at times can be "up-and-down" The service at times also varies - sometimes it takes up to half an hour for one to receive his or her food. Also, parking is easy - just go to the bank's parking lot across the street.
- Pros: Inexpensive, Safe neighborhood
- Cons: Long wait
Good Food, Fast Service

The sushi is decent at this restaurant, and the service is pretty quick and friendly. It's the only sushi place on the street so we go there quite a bit. It's not the best sushi you will find, but it is up there! Worth a try.
Glorious Affordable Sushi

Wonderful, wonderful food. I was first introduced to sushi here, and after four years of eating there regularly have still never had a bad meal. The food was excellent when I was a vegetarian, and is excellent now that I'm a carnivore. The Udon is great, the gyoza are great, and the service and ambience is great too. Plus the staff is nice about letting you stay for hours and eat while doing homework. Close enough to SFSU to make it our sushi place of choice.
- Pros: inexpensive, close to SFSU
- Cons: sometime crowded, little parking
