My New Favorite Sushi Restaurant!. Wow. That's all I can say...I have, up to now, been very dedicated to Shimo #1 on Clement, with Shimo #2 on Taraval as a standby for convenience. However, I just moved WAY out in the Sunset, and last Friday evening, after shlepping the last of our things to the new place, my boyfriend, David, our dear friend, Symon, and I decided to try the nearby Sushi spot. I was SO impressed! Granted, I prefer ordering directly from the sushi chef rather than filling out the little form, but, aside from that detail, I was thrilled with our meal. I love white tuna and hamachi sashimi, and I have rarely found it so pristinely, mouth-wateringly fresh as ours was. The nigiri sushi was equally fresh and generously proportioned. Another great favorite of mine is tobiko with quail egg. Normally, this is created with a seaweed wrap, but at Tazaki, it came with a combination of tobiko and black caviar, wrapped in a thin piece of tuna. Exquisite! There is a generous and varied selection of rolls, and many varieties of sake. The service was cheerful and efficient. I feel so fortunate to have discovered this gem, and to have it so near - within walking distance. Parking would not be too bad, but might take a couple of turns around the block...WAY worth it, though. I'll be back again and again…

Neighborhood Classic. The Sunset is thankfully blessed with many Japanese restaurants, so you have to comb through the list to find your favorites. Tazaki has become our go-to spot! Consistent service and quality, and rolls like the Creamy Roll are creative and instant classics (don't even think about going and NOT ordering the Creamy Roll...you'll be missing out). The nigiri is always fresh with generous portions, and the last several times that I've been, they've had a dine-in special on the Sake Nigiri. The general dining space is moderate, but can comfortably accomodate group dining. And if you're looking for a more cozy or intimate experience, there are 2 traditional Japanese tables in the window to remove your shoes and cuddle up. Enjoy!…

For the price, only average.... You get what you pay for in nigiri sushi. They are cheap but so is the quality. Beware of the maki rolls, you might be suprised about their actual prices. Overall, for the price I paid, I could have gone to some where nicer.…

The Bomb, Hands Down, No Doubt About It.. Tazaki sushi completely changed my expectations for sushi. No longer am I willing to pay for the sushi experience and get average fish and small portions. I only do sushi here because it is always fresh, generously served and consistently great. I live in the Richmond District so I go almost weekly. Try the cooked seabass as well.…

My new Sunset favorite. I have abandoned Taraval & Noriega Okazu Yu and found a replacement that I like. Service was good, sushi was tasty. The Unagi was was nicely warmed up and had sesame seeds that added a nice texture. The spider roll was okay, I think I will stop ordering these everywhere, it just tastes like deep fried flour. Hamachi was very tasty. Sake was served luke warm, but the Tea and Miso soup were pipping hot. There aren't very many choices for sushi in the Sunset, so this is my current favorite until I find something better. Definitly will be returning often.…

Best Sushi!. Since my favorite sushi place closed down, Tazaki Sushi is really the best place around now! The service is friendly and the quality of the sashimi is top notch! Portions are large and prices are good!…

Don't come here if you want fair service. This restaurant has average food at best. But the real kicker is our recent experience of poor service. After making a mistake on our bill, after PAYING the bill and leaving a tip, we were told we owed money for a meal they "forgot" to ring up. Not only was the waitstaff rude, the owner himself was rude as well. McDonald's doesn't make their customers pay for a stupid cashier's mistake, and I certainly don't expect that after spending good money on a mediocre meal.…

Ah . . . mazing!!!!. It is bittersweet for me to tell you about tazaki. This is the best sushi for the price that I have ever had. But it has been so nice to feel like Tazaki is my very own (it has that hole-in-the-wall kind of appeal). I suppose I can share it with all of you. Can't fit enough compliments.
