great almost one stop shop!!!
by kivanov
Awesome video store!!! They have the best variety of old classic movies and foreign movies in all of San Francisco!! They're late fees are aweful so make sure to bring movies back on time. But other than that, they're great!! Also, Gordo's is right next door, so if you want to get movies and Mexican food to bring home, then it's a great almost one stop shop!!!
your company is great!

my friends and i decided to go on a cruise and to get us in the mood, i wanted to rent cruise-related movies. a couple of titles came up after googling, and after calling 2 blockbusters and 1 hollywood, only le video had it in stock. in dvd and vhs, my choice.
keep up the good work. your company is great!
Whether you're after Adam Sandler comedies or obscure Italian dramas, they're sure to have the film for you.

In Short
Le Video now has more than 50,000 movies on VHS and several thousand on laser disc and DVD. While the famously casual service at Le Video slipped a little when the store expanded next door, it's still the only place in the city where you can go in with a question like "You know, that movie with that guy and the stuff with that thing?" and get the right answer.
Good selection, terrible rental policies
by ajssf77
Yeah, they have everything but they only rent videos for three days and they won't hold anything for you over the phone. They are arrogant and expensive. I'd love to support independent video, but I also think $4.00 for three days sux.
- Pros: excellent selection
- Cons: terrible rental policies, expensive, bad customer service
good when blockbuster does not have it
by charlenav
this palce has everything!!! i love the huge selection. the only problem is that they charge the full rental price for everyday tht something is late. and, it adds up very quickly. rental periods are also short, which is annoying. but, they have films you will not find outside of los angeles. check out their rockin sexploitation section!
Punitive Policies
by lizellis
While their selection is extensive, Le Video is not user-friendly. Besides their high late fees, their credit policy is terrible. I purchased a video there and returned it, unopened and with the receipt, about 2 hours later when I found it at another local store for quite a bit less. They insisted on giving me a store credit rather than refunding the cash I had paid. To make matters worse, I returned several months later to use the credit and was told that they had expunged it from their books. They had my name, address and phone number and never did they warn me that my credit would "expire".
They have it all

They're yet to not have what I'm looking for. Plus, It seems like every time I go in there, the have more DVDs. They're staff seems to know what your looking for too, as long as you can provide enough info about the fiilm you want, and not just, "that movie with that guy in that place where the stuff happens." Make sure that you bring your stuff back on time though, because the late fines are stiff. A definate 10 out of 10.
- Pros: Selection, Knowledge, sub-sections
- Cons: Expensive late fees
what a mess
by ebeitzuri
This place is bad news if you don't know what you want to rent. DVDs are crammed tightly together on shelves 8 feet tall with the spines facing out . Trying to scan an imposing wall of tiny spines is not a task for the faint of heart. The aisles are extremely narrow which is big trouble when it's busy. Late fees are outrageously high and can exceed the value of the DVD or tape. What a racket! They're not about new releases, so the few copies they buy are usually rented out. They have an amazing selection of foreign, indie, and obscure films. But for everyday rental usage, Le Video stinks.
- Pros: broad selection
- Cons: , poor organization, cramped and crowded
