What an incredible store. There are so many beautiful items to choose from. A great place for gifts. There are porcelain dolls, unusual lamps, vintage watches, bakelite game pieces and many other different collectables. This store is packed with super affordable costume jewelry. I find incredible vintage Bakelite jewelry here, a large collection. When I shop here, I always walk away feeling happier. Phyllis, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. The prices are great. This store us unlike any store I have ever been in. I highly recommend it!
Pros: Great prices, lots to choose from, friendly service.

Gaslight & Shadows Antiques is a place is full of treasures! They've got everything from dolls to limoges to jewelry. If you are a jewelry lover, you've got to check this place out. You can find a variety of styles to suit your mood such as modern, costume, replicas, and bakelight jewelry and the prices are really incredible! I came across this store by chance since I moved to the Richmond neighborhood and I keep coming back for more. I've bought so many pairs of earrings and always get compliments on them. My favorite is the bakelight jewelry which come in many colors, shapes, and sizes. I also love the antique rings and bracelets. Just recently, I bought a gorgeous pair of dangly lightweight earrings, another bakelight pair made by Zad, and Jennifer Lopez style hoop earrings for under 30$! You can't find a deal like that for quality jewelry. Another wonderful thing about his store is that the owner is absolutely fabulous, upbeat, and her willingness nature to help you is something you don't find in antique stores.
Pros: Jewelry, Service, Variety

Gaslight and Shadows is an amazing shop full of beautiful vintage things; the world's largest collection of miniature Limoges porcelain boxes, Bakelite jewelry, curvy bracelets with turquoise and abalone, and sweet 1950's never-worn vintage barrettes with tiny pink-and-white rosettes. There is also a good collection of new and reasonably-priced jewelry. I found a fantastic pair of dangly earrings that are plastic but look like black lace. At the center of the shop is the dark haired, tiny Phyllis Nabhan, who is at once mysterious and yet incredibly open and friendly. She gave me a wonderful overview of the history of Bakelite, which I learned is a super-hard plastic which took color so well that it went from being used for stove knobs and radios in the 1930's and 40's to jewelry in the 50's. She was helpful, but also let me browse around freely. I meant to just dash in, but ended up staying for a long time. Then my parking meter was up, and I left, promising to return soon, which I will. It's a great place - be sure to plan enough time to see everything and get to chat with the owner!

Incredible store! Phyllis opened the store in 1976. Shopping there is a treasure hunt. There are curios of every type in every corner of this highly organinzed store. I spend hours there, it is an adventure, a fun and friendly experience. There are several thousand hand painted Porcelain Limoges Boxes from France, the largest "on display" collection. The vintage Bakelite jewelry collection is huge. If you like jewelry, this is the place to shop. The prices are great and the selection is large. It is a great store for gifts and items for myself. There are so many different collections at such great prices. Be prepared to spend some time there because there is so much to look at. In Gaslight & Shadows, you actually are talking to the owner Phyllis, who has so much love and knowledge of her items. This is my favorite store in San Francisco.
Pros: Great Variety, Good Parking, Great Prices

This store is really quite a gem. Is is truly an eclectic mix of old and loved items, including dolls, necklaces, paintings, porcelain, pipes, sculptures and statues, all unique and fascinating in its own way. Phyllis (my apologies if I mispelled your name), Gaslight's friendly owner, will gladly detail the histories behind each treasure and any other topic you can think of, I would wager. The store is small but cozy, cramped in a good sort of way, and makes a fantastic alternative to relic-hunting in the mass manufactured traps that are department stores. Do yourself a favor and stop by if you ever want to pick up a gift, or if you are interested in items with palpable history.
Pros: Good prices, Friendly Environment, Unique items

I live in the Richmond and pass this shop almost everyday. You can't bring me past it without my window shopping and straying toward the door. I rate this shop a positively posh from the past "10". Great selections and prices.
Pros: styles, selection, pricing

This store was just on TV "Evening Magazine" with good reason. Phyllis, the owner has the largest collection of Limoges Boxes in the World. She founded the store in 1976 and has earned the respect of the community. Not only does she want to please her customers and find them what they are looking for, she also has been a volunteer fitness instructor at the YMCA for 20 years. She told me her goal in life was to help people and make them happy. I have been shopping here for 22 years. There is no reason to shop anywhere else because I always find what I want at Gaslight & Shadows. She also will give you advice on how to loose weight or exercises to tone your body.
Pros: great prices, items of every type, great service
Cons: diff. parking Sat.
