This is an amazing restaurant!! I had a party of 31 and the staff was so helpful to all of them. The food was great, the atmosphere is fun and energtic, and the bellydancer was soooo funny and entertaining! The service was so good and fast. A friend and I even got a tour to the kitchen and everything seemed very neat and clean. The staff are very personal and friendly, it felt like we were friends coming over for an amazing dinner!
- Pros: Great food, service, ambience, and very funny and talented bellydancer!
- Cons: Parking was hard to find
Amazing Engagement Party

I cannot begin to share how fantastic El Mansour, Jack, Houda, and all the staff are at El Mansour. I also cannot fully express in words what a great experience we had.
My fiance and I decided to do something different and fun for our engagement party?not an easy task. I could not be happier that we thought of our local neighborhood gem for such a setting. We had been to the restaurant before a number of times (we love the food and authentic decor) but neither of us had ever planned such an event. Jack and Houda have so much experience and helped us with everything. They thought of things we would have missed that really made the event, like two fantastic belly dancers that the family just loved (I will never forget the look of delight on my Father's face as he danced with one of them). The menu gave just enough choice to make everyone happy and not too much to confuse them, the wines were delicious and of course the mint tea always fantastic. Jack and Houda were so accommodating; we took up the entire restaurant and yet our guests said they had never been to a more intimate and enjoyable party. The food was fantastic and the staff was so attentive (surely they had fun explaining some of the fun Moroccan customs to some of our American guests). For the Moroccans who were there, they felt transported back to another time & place and were inspired to share many stories of days gone by.
Thank you El Mansour for a beautiful, unforgettable experience. Thank you Jack and Houda for your planning help and making such an incredible event possible. We'll be back soon!
- Pros: food, environment and service
- Cons: parking, next time we do an event there, we'll hire valet
An Experience To Remember

I love this place!! We stayed downtown, so this is a bit out of the way, but well worth the trip. The food was incredible and the ambiance is very romantic. It's smaller than I thought it would be but that just made it cozy. The bellydancer, Andrea, was great and so much fun. There's always a fear of being called up to dance, but honestly, everyone was so bad it didn't matter by the time I had to dance. The service was a little on the slow side at first but the hostess was incredible gracious. I would absolutely come back next time I'm in S.F.
Seriously, I can't say enough about the food... try the lamb with honey and almonds!
- Pros: food, atmosphere
- Cons: service can be a little slow
The 'savory' Moroccan eatery in SF

Celebrated my birthday in this restaurant. I was thinking it would be a quiet affair, but turned out really lavish and unexpectedly very eventful. It was a Sunday evening and we were seated promptly upon arrival. The ritual started with the hand-washing ceremony using rose water. Then the four-course meals were presented in intervals, starting from soup, salad, bastilla (which was awesome) and the entree and finally the mint tea (a must). Everything was made to perfection and the food tasted ?de-li-cious?. The service was also very refreshing. To our surprise, there was a belly dance performance by a wonderful lady who stole the crowd's awe and got me dancing to the Arabic flavor. Overall, had a wonderful evening thanks to my husband's great recommendation and 'El Mansour's? food & service.
- Pros: Food,service
- Cons: Finding the place

In Short
Authentic Moroccan food arrives sans utensils in two chic, exotic dining rooms colored by native textiles, low-slung, inlaid tables and cushioned benches. A prix-fixe menu offers traditional soup, salad, and an array of couscous, lamb and chicken dishes fragrant with honey, lemon and herbs. The colorful ambience is punctuated by the occasional belly dancer.

It's an amazing place. One of my favourites if not the favourite.
My fiance and I go there in special occasions like my Birthday and his promotion.IT's a great place!!!The decoration and atmosphere, the costumes if the waiter and waitress, the welcoming, the costumes of rinsing your hands with rose water, the 3-4 course meal and at the end the music and dancing.
I wanted to reserve that place for my wedding but it doesn't accomodate the number of guests I'm having and it's a bit byond my budget but it would have definitely been a dream wedding :)
If you try this restaurant I'm sure you would want to come back.
- Pros: EVERYTHING
- Cons: it's a bit on the pricy side but it's totally worth it

El Mansour is more than a dining place. It is an exotic experience for the senses, beyond the excellent food you get to learn about how moroccans choose colors and themes. I really was transoported to morocco for a couple hours. Be definetely back.
Not your every day type of place.

Break out of the Norm The food is great! The service is great. The people watching is great and the enternainment is well shall I risk saying it again? Oh why not. It is great too. Stahsa is my favorite dancer there she is fun and lively. This is a great out of the norm type of place to have dinner.
- Pros: Unique, tasty, It is food and a show all at the same time
- Cons: little pricey

I went to el Mansour for a friend's birthday celebration. There were about 12 of us, so they clustered us around 3 tables. The inside is a bit small, so definitely make reservations ahead of time for larger parties. This was a fun place to celebrate!! We ate with our hands, so if you go here, hopefully you are comfortable sharing with your friends. There were a lot of great options to choose from on the menu (we ordered from the right side, I believe it was, where the combination meals were listed). Partway into our meal, we enjoyed some great photo opportunities with the belly dancer. She was very talented, entertaining, and friendly...she encouraged a few in my group to interact and do some dancing of their own.
The place was pretty easy to find. Parking took a little bit of time, but definitely not as bad as other areas of SF. I think I parked about 2 blocks away. I had a fantastic time and would definitely go back again!!
PROS: Fun for celebration dinners, entertaining belly dancers, great food!
CONS: Inside is a little small.

I went with my friend for her birthday to El Mansour. It was a really cute place that tried to emulate Muslim traditions. Everything we had was really good and it was entertaining watching the belly dancer pull lots of embarrassed people up to dance with her. The mint tea was really good and it was neat that they came to wash your hands before and after the meal.
- Pros: ambiance, food, entertainment
- Cons: there may be a wait on the weekends
