Best burritos in the city
by tlorenz

I basically grew up on Gordo burritos and quesadillas, and it's good to know they haven't changed. Service is always fast, even when a line goes out the door in no time you're the next to order. Burritos are so big you almost have to share, especially if you get the super (I always ask for extra salsa, which is made with fresh onions, tomatos, and cilantro). Though this isn't a place for a nice sit down Mexican meal, it certainly satisfies when you're in a rush or just don't want to cook for the night.
- Pros: packed, to-go burritos
- Cons: drink options are limited

I have been eating at Gordo's my whole life. They have one of the best burritos in the city. They are very filling and made to order. The guacamole is also very good. I would recommend the one on Geary but this one is just as good as long as you are taking it to go because there is very limited seating. If you want fresh, tasty, filling burritos, eat at Gordo's.
This location skimps on the meat!

I live in the Richmond district and Gordo is the place for quick and good burritos here. I've always gotten the carnitas burrito, sometimes super burrito. I used to go to the Geary location but the Clement location is closer to my home. The Clement location has either 1 of 2 big Mexican guys making the dishes for you while the Geary location has an older Mexican guy. One incident, a young Caucasian woman ahead of me put in an order and got "extra helpings" of meat. When it came to me, i got skimped! I wasn't looking for a date or anything from them, but heck at least be consistent! If I wanted a bean and rice burrito, I would have ordered that! Go to the Geary location for top service.
- Pros: Cheap
- Cons: INCONSISTENT FOOD

Everyone has their favorite burrito, and it seems to be an especially important decision when you're in SF, and mine has to be at Gordo's. They pack it full with rice, salsa, cheese, and the meat of your choice, along with whatever else you want in there, including different types of beans to choose from. Seating is limited and cramped, but you're not there for the ambience - you're there for the kick-ass burritos.
Simple and good

Nothing astounding at Gordo's just simple food but a great value and choice if you don't want your usual fast food and don't want to go to a more expensive sit down place.
I love their burritos.
- Pros: Fast, inexpensive, clean
- Cons: not much seating, not much variety
good stuff

good food fast, these guys keep the line moveing. so even if ther is a long line the wait is not long. one draw back is that really there is no place to eat inside a couple of stools. so its really a take out place.

Gordo's is the best!!! I live in Idaho now but I grew up in the richmond dist until I was 15 and I always and I mean always went to Gordo's for a good lunch. They have great prices great cust service and are always showing soccer on there TV. You wont be dazzled with expensive art and decor... but who cares??? Because you are in for the most tasteful burrito in the world!!@!! I am visiting with my wife in the next month and we will be visiting Gordos for a burrito and for their awesome corn quassadilla (spelling??)
thanks :)

The line is frequently out the door, but the food here is worth the wait. And it's so cheap. Plus you get to watch as the burritos/tacos are made one by one.
- Pros: Bargain prices
- Cons: "To go" only
