Tourist Trap

Your bicycle is a target for thieves but they don't tell you that until you're charged $150 for a junky old bicycle. Very rude and said the lock (cheap) was never protection from thieves and bikes are stolen all the time by the homeless. My advice : Rent from a bike shop nearby for quality and enjoyment!!

Rent pedal and row boats by the hour at Golden Gate Park's Stow Lake. Bikes include cruiser, mountain, carriage, more.

Friendly, mellow staff.

I've rented bikes here twice. Nice people, mellow. Just make sure to get there before 4:45 PM. They're sticklers about renting out bikes to an hour before their closing -- 6 PM. I prefer these guys to the Blazing Saddles place at Pier 41. You can read about my negative Pier 41 rental experience under their listing.

• Pros: Nice people.
• Cons: Don't rent out bikes after 4:45 pm.
