Try the Banh Xeo. If you can't get a reservation for Slanted Door, this should be your second choice for Vietnamese. Banh Xeo, the thin crepe filled with shrimp, and pork and sprouts at this place is delicious. Not all imperial rolls are made equal, this one is full of flavor. Always remember to wear a heavy coat, it tend to be cold in the restaurant.

The tranquil atmosphere and expansive Vietnamese menu have made this elegant restaurant a popular Inner Richmond destination.. In Short
Large windows offer plenty of natural light into this small Vietnamese restaurant. The walls are painted in pastel hues, and one wall showcases a large painting of Saigon. A large aquarium filled with tropical fish adds to the sense of serenity. The extensive menu of nearly 75 dishes boasts a number of unusual offerings like a squid salad, flaming beef and prawns, "Saigon-style" barbecued pork chop and spicy catfish fillet cooked with chilies in a clay pot.

Don't take Entertainment Coupons anymore!. Decided to try this place out bcs I had an Entertainment coupon and always passed by the restaurant, but never ate there before. The food was decent--ordered the Beef Look Lac, and the Seafood Hot Plate. For appetizers, we ordered the Shrimp on Sugar cane. Becareful though, because on the menu, the Shrimp on Sugar cane was listed as 7.50, but when the bill arrived, we were charged $11. The waiter claimed it was a mistake on the menu--if so, why wasn't it corrected with a pen? Also, when it came time to paying the bill, we were told they no longer accept Entertainment Coupons as of last year. I checked the Entertainment's website and they were not listed as opting out.

So all in all, decent food, pretty expensive, adequate service. Just make sure you check your bill when it comes time to paying.

Decent food but poor service. Dropped in to this place on a whim and were promptly seated. The waitress started things off right: she was very friendly and helped us select some good dishes. Then two large parties arrived, 6 in one and 12 in another, and our service went to hades in a handcart. We got our food expeditiously alright, and it was not bad. The 5-spiced chicken was a little tough, and I've made it more flavorful at home, but it was good. Yet in the end, we felt abandoned due to the larger parties and the waitress acted like the slow flowing Mekong at its widest point when it came to getting our check.

Good food - poor service. Ambience - very nice and quite swanky for a Vietnamese joint. Food - great food, though I must say I was disappointed that provide western flatware as opposed to chopsticks. Service - I've only been there once, but the service was horrible. Out water glasses stayed empty for twenty minutes, it took them almost a half-hour to get our tea to us, the entrees came up to ten minutes apart from each other. We felt like we had been abandoned. The whole experience took two hours when we should have been out of there in half the time.

ZZzzzzzzzzzZZZZzzzzzzzzz. If you enjoy going out to lunch and it taking 3 hours then this is the place for you. We got there at 1:30 and left at 4:30 for lunch. Service was the worst I've ever encountered. We asked for water and would get it an hour later. Aslo the dishes came out seperately so by the time everyone got their food it was cold. I have to say the food is good, but the service really needs to be sped up. Overall i would go elsewhere to get my Pho fix. This place was just rediculous.

My favorite Vietnamese restaurant. Things I recommend: Beef Look Luk, Vietnamese Crepe, Shrimp Fried Rice & the Fried Banana. This place is great filling food; nice for a date, but not really for bigger parties things will get a bit crowded. Dont expect much from the wine or beer selection, but it has a clean appearance, the service is at a decent pace and the arrangement is good.
