Great pizza and family fun!
by Clambake
My family was transplanted rom NJ twenty years ago so we have experienced the best thin-crust pizza in NYC. We came here to see if we could find a San Fran equivilent. We ordered two X-large pies. The tomato sauce and cheese was excellent and the dough was very good, but was on the dry side and did not exhibit the chewiness that I look for in an excellent thin crust pie. Overall a delicious and wonderful pie that we would come back for again. (We drove 40 miles to get here!)
The service was great and the pies (pizza for those not from the East coast) came out in relatively short order considering the large crowd at Giorgio's that night. The atmosphere was family oriented and many tables had three generations sharing pizza together.
I will recommend this pizzeria to my friends and family!
- Pros: Pizza was great
- Cons: Bathrooms are small
Traditional rustic pizza place.

This is my first review and first time at Giorgio's. The wait staff was very friendly and we were promptly seated. My wife and I ordered special pasta rather than the pizza which we will order next time. I had the Penne with Spicy Sausage. I thought it was excellent. It was not too spicy. It looked like a homemade sauce with lots of roma tomatoes, tasty sliced Italian sausage, mushrooms and thinly sliced red peppers. Sauce held up well with the Penne and was seasoned appropriately... delicious! My wife had the Pasta Primavera, a major disappointment. There were few veggies and no sauce to speak of... a half a plate of sundried tomatoes which looked like sauce but tasted like unseasoned sundried tomatoes... very bland. We'll avoid that dish next time. The wine selection was what you might expect to find at a pizzeria... not impressive (we live in wine country so are spoiled). We will definitely go back but will stick with our friend's original recommendation for a good old fashioned pizza.
- Pros: Friendly staff and generally good food, inexpensive
- Cons: Parking
Great pizza and other Italian food
by norajakes
Great pizza spot. I love their pizza, calzones, eggplant parm, and antipasto salad. Portions are generous and the service is friendly. Funky ambiance which takes you back in time while dining.
- Pros: Great food, service, and environment
- Cons: no parking

best pizza in the city

Delicious thin crust pizza in a cozy, casual atmosphere. The pizza goes great with a glass or two of the house burgundy!
- Pros: easy, cheap
- Cons: no delivery, don't take reservations
Way over hyped
by gavinolm
Over priced and over hyped. Granted this is the BAY area the home of price gouging.
Being from chicago I saw this little gem and thought hmm..looks like a place back home...must be decent. Went in to find thata calzone was almost $10. WTF?? 10bones for a folded over small pizza, marron.
Then i get the small pizza we ordered what an exciting serving of the ordinary. Having had pizza from literally all over the world. This place was nothing special. While i am admitedly a Chicago stuffed pizza fan, i do love the occasional thin crust. This place thin crust reminded me of the terribel indian run pizza joints back home.
The ambience is great the service is great, the food is so so, the price is way to high.
Don't goout of your way IT IS NOT WORTH THE WAIT.
- Pros: service, ambience
- Cons: long lines, price, pie
Thin crust it is!
by foodielover
We've always liked Giorgio's pizza with it's thin crust and tasty ijngredients. It's best to dine-in than take-out for their pizzas because the steam inside the box on the way home will make the crust soggy. The Giorgio's special is great with pepperoni, sausage & mushroom. Their dinners aren't too bad but it's their thin-crust pizzas that shine. The wait staff are always friendly.
- Pros: thin crust pizza, quick service
- Cons: parking, crowds at night
Damn Good Pie!
by odeeodough
Damn good pizza (real New York style, not a pretender!!), good cold beer and one of the best jukeboxes in the City. That's a tough combination to beat, for sure.
Giorgio's has been my pizza of first choice since the early 70s when I moved to S.F. from N.Y. I live in the East Bay now, but if I lived closer to Giorgio's, I'd be there far too often.
There is nothing better
by jovilover
I was born and raised in San Francisco. I was lucky enough to be able to have this awesome pizza since my childhood. In my opinion there is nothing better when it comes to pizza. I am know a mother and wife and live over 100 miles from SF. We still go to visit family and we ALWAYS go to Giorgios! I give it a 10+
Giorgio's Through Time
by naeahuau
For 25 years, Giorgio's has been a staple... reliable, dependably tasty, and "come back for more" good. The only downside is that there is no evening delivery available. A favorite past time is to purchase a fresh, hot pie to go, and take it across the street to the Plough and Stars where better beer can be had... it makes the perfect midafternoon lunch!
- Pros: great food
- Cons: small, lines
