freewheel has treated me like family

by apatchyprincess

i live in the neighborhood of this fine bike shop, and whenever i have trouble they are there to help me.

i am a clueless girl new to the biking world and once went in just to figure out how to put air in my tires. they always take time to help me out and treat me well. they don't have a huge selection of bikes but they will make sure you get what you want and they know how to fix everything. they are a gift to the community and great guys. thanks freewheel.

Sorry SFLover!

by travisfreewheel

SFlover,

I'm genuinly sorry you had a bad experience at the Freewheel. I guess there are two reasons we could have failed you. One is our limited selection of bikes. Our store on Hayes St. is small, and with our community workshop taking up the prime real estate at the front of the shop, we only have so much room for new bikes. Thus we have a pretty empty gap between the entry level hybrids and the fancy carbon road bikes. So, often we refer people to our Valencia St. store, as they have a huge selection of road bikes at every price point, and we are usually hesitant to talk sizing, unless it's the model you are considering buying, as one manufacturers "Medium", can be alot different than anothers "58cm". If it was me who neglected you at the counter, I sincerely apologize for not spending the time helping you. All I can guess is that I didn't have my coffee or felt overwhelmed with other work, which is inexcusable. I take our customer satisfaction seriously, and don't want to be another one of those snobby bike shops. I hope you can forgive us and give us another chance next time you need a patch kit or water bottle! Sincerely, Travis.

Lousy Customer Service!

by sfluva

When I went in to the shop there was thee guys working. The guy behind the counter was not interested in helping me out. I had a question about bike sizing and he would not help me find my size instead he refered me to another shop because he figured I was not going to spend money in his shop. Its too bad because I bought a brand new road bike that I would love to buy stuff for from them because there right around my corner, but I'd rather make the drive to somewhere else that does not act like some bike shop ELITIST!
