Maggot in my soup- not a clean place.

Got take out, went home, ate about half (I did at once point notice what looks like a bunch of brown mush but I don't even want to think about that cuz I mixed it in and likely ate it), after half the soup I stir and a WORM comes to the top. It was either a giant maggot or a caterpillar. So after gagging and brushing my teeth I call them and they are like "Oh it must have been in the vegeatables, do you want to come get something else?" Are you kidding? I then checked Yelp and there are numerous reports of rodents in the dining area, "crunchy dark things" in the spring rolls. Gross. Calling the Health Inpsector Monday.

Cheap but average tasting food. Kinda disappointed.

My boyfriend took me here for Valentine's Day (also my B-day) as a surprise. I heard so many positive things about this place, that I was really happy. The wait wasn't too bad because we chose to sit at the counter. Menu came, we chose an appetizer of Beef skewers, one of the special items (Garlic-Ginger Chicken on a bed of stirfried noodles with bok choy) and and item on the regular menu (Stirfried Spicy Curry Tiger Prawns).

The skewers came first, and they were slightly burnt. The meat itself had a very odd texture to it, almost not beef tasting. It wasn't really marinated properly, just tasted like someone just slapped on some beef on a BBQ and served it to us. The dipping sauce of peanut something was bland as well.

As for the main dishes, my boyfriend's dish, which sounded so delicious, basically (I swear I'm not making this up) tasted like, again, someone throwing some chicken on the BBQ and serving it to us. The chicken was placed on a bed of noodles which tasted more like teriyaki noodles with bok-choy than garlic-ginger. No meaningful flavors in the mouth, just teriyaki and grilled chicken.

My dish, had no Tiger Prawns. Tiger Prawns are big. My little shrimp were the medium size ones you buy at a grocery store. The dish basically consisted of this: Noodles that had some curry "soup" poured over it and shrimp thrown in. Top that off with Chili Powder and you have spicy. However, again, no medley of flavors dancing around in my mouth. If you took the noodles alone and ate them, they tasted bland. You had to skillfully grab the noodles and "soup" to get the flavor.

Overall, the dinner tasted very amateur. If you've never eaten really good food, then you won't know what I'm talking about. The price is good, the food is really average though.

I'm an optimist and gave Citrus Club another try with some friends, and again, I walked out disappointed. Between the 8 of us, nothing really was phenominal. Go to Le Soleil instead

• Cons: Not very tasty, even bland. The food is ok - nothing to write home about.

excellent cheap eats

This is a very cool, hidden spot on Haight. Pretty much everything on the menu is under $10. Definitely try the garlic edamame... YUM!!! Attentive service, good sized portions, fresh ingredients. This is somewhere I'll be visiting many many more times.

Amazing find!

My brother-in-law took us here during a recent trip from NYC and the food was absolutely delicious! The pan Asian noodles were fabulous and not heavy - they claim that they aim to satisfy their noodle obsession while substituting oils with citrus juices. I had an incredible cold spicy lime coconut soba noodle salad with veggies and chicken and a slushy lemonade. Mmmm... ! Nice, sleek urban noodlehouse ambiance. Inexpensive. Great service. We were able to hang out here for a long time after we finished our lunch w/ no problems. Had to recommend this place to others, it's a fabulous find in a cool neighborhood!

An Asian noodle house stir-fried with a splash of Upper Haight sensibility.

The Scene
A casual eatery smack-dab in the Upper Haight, the Citrus Club has an almost Polynesian feel, subtly lit by flickering candles and clever lamps made from conical Vietnamese straw hats. Tables are well-spaced, and friendly young staff shuttle in and out of the two small dining rooms to the sounds of cool jazz and funky world beats.

The Food
Starters are an eclectic mix of classics--Vietnamese imperial rolls, divine wok-fried Chinese greens with shiitake mushrooms and more creative inventions like a cold salad of Japanese buckwheat noodles mixed with carrots and cucumbers in a spicy lime-and-coconut dressing. Main courses come in two categories: noodle soups and wok-tossed noodles. Among the former, the pho-ga (Vietnamese chicken noodle soup) tastes mild and soothing--lighter than your standard chicken soup--and is loaded with thin rice noodles, slices of chicken, cilantro and chopped vegetables.

Yummy flavors but can get crowded....

My husband and I often will order to go here, especially on a weekend or during peak dinig hours becuase this hole-in-the-wall place can get crowded. But the food is consistantly worth it, especially at the price. I, personally, love any place that clearly marks vegan items on the menu, which they do - the hot and sour vegetable soup is one of my favorites!

I can't get enough of this place. It's small and if you get there past 6, there's a bit of a wait, but the food is so awesome, I keep going back. Everyone I've taken there has gone back with or without me and loves it.

One of my favorite SF spots.

I happened upon this place many years ago and have been a reg. ever since.

Garlic Edmane to start, Shanghai Noodles, and some hot sake. Recommend going a night - fun to have a drink while you wait and enjoy the energy and atmosphere.

Stop in - you'll be back.

(Don't trust neg. reviews here by people who didn't even eat the food. That would be silly)
