Unfriendly help at the counter. Told me my Sony receiver repair was ready. I drove home, plugged it in - it was if no one had looked at it at all. I returned to the same unfriendly counter help. The 2nd time the repair was done well. I would go anywhere else. If some moron doesn't realize that they are in a service industry then I don't care to give my money to the company they work at. Much less have to make an extra trip. Whoever Art is, he should read the riot act to his help -

Terrible, unprofessional, and incompetent summarizes my experience with Art's TV service center in SF. The Better Biz B rates Art's TV as 'UNSATISFACTORY" and I found out why. They damaged my tv when trying to fix it and would not take responsibility. Unless you want to gamble with their bad service, avoid them.

These guys not only took the time to fix the power on my 3 year old LCD TV but they also took the time to solder some parts and calibrate the LCD to make the picture look better and brighter! They did this all within 40 minutes at my house. Arts TV sent 2 technicians to my house and the work was done very fast. They are reasonably priced and very kind and also took the time to explain what they did to my LCD TV. I am very confident in their services and will only use them in the future. If you have anything that needs servicing, this is the place to bring it to.
Pros: Very prompt House calls. FREE estimate
Cons: none

After a power surge that damaged my home theater system, I was directed by Sony to have my equipment repaired here. It appears, after taking a week to "repair" it, they didn't do a thing. I had to insist they tell me what they did to fix it and they couldn't. After everything, they had no idea what the original problem was. I asked them to hook up a vcr and dvd player to WALK THEM THROUGH THE PROBLEM that I had explained a week prior and repeat over and over again that I had already tried all their ideas on fixing it through the unit's settings (IT WAS A POWER SURGE/SHORT!) Language barrier aside, these guys don't seem to listen. They don't record detailed information on original problems or keep good records of "tests" or "repairs" they claim to have done. I would never recommend this place for newer equipment repairs and will complain to Sony as well about this being the only certified repair shop in San Francisco.

Excellent quality service. Quick and reliable. I called in for a house call and they came to my house 2 days later. They fixed my sony plasma and it has been working beautifully ever since. I highly recommend them.
Pros: Fast service and very reliable.
Cons: none.

These guys have been around for over 15 years and are the most experienced technicians in the entire Bay Area. I've had them repair my 42in Sony XBR and an Pioneer Amp. I was quoted within 2 days and had it fixed less than a week later. Since then my TV and Amp has been working flawlessly. (Its been nearly 2 years since I had them repaired). These guys are quick, polite, and informative. I wouldn't trust my electronics with anyone but Arts TV. I highly recommend their services.
Pros: Fast service, great prices, and they make house calls
Cons: Located deep in SF so could be hard to find.

I was told by a friend to contact Arts TV, and one of the gentleman there was very helpful, polite, and knew exactly what he was doing. I had a really old TV which didn't work anymore because I thought the power blew out. After I brought it in to Arts TV, the one gentleman was able to fix it in a matter of a few days. I highly recommend using these guys! They are awesome! I would definitely go back to them if I had another problem with my TV!
Pros: Parking, Service
Cons: None

I had a Sony "ES" home theater preamplifier whose power supply died. It was 4.5 years into its 5 year warranty. Sony's website instructed me to ship it to Laredo, TX for service. I called Sony and asked for a local authorized dealer and they referred me to Arts. I brought it in myself. I was quoted 4 days to look at it, then up to 10 more days if parts needed to be ordered. To my pleasant surprise I got a call in 2 days informing me it was fixed. It's been working great ever since.

I agree with the previous posting. These guys don't know what they are doing. I am videophile, and a tad an*l about my picture quality. After moving, my Sony XBR suffered some picture damage. Under warranty, I was directed to them by Sony. After opening the back of the monitor, the repairman shook the tube like there's no tomorrow, which made the picture worst, and then accessed the service menu trying to correct the curvature of the picture. After they left the TV set was worst then when they came...but I was so mad I couldnt witness more of this non-sense. I had more and more problem since they touched the TV. I was, and am still really mad of the really lousy job they did on this 3K TV set.
Pros: none
Cons: will make, matters, worst
