korea house has the best vegetable beef soup! (aka taro gook bap) you have to try their soup on a rainy day or days when you don't feel like eating anything too heavy. i highly highly recommend it!
- Pros: excellent service, not so stingy with side dishes

This Japantown destination for authentic Korean barbecue is known for its grilled meats and hot, spicy soups.
it's decent

I've went to korea house recently and tried their bbq and some soups...I was a little disappointed to see the gas grill as wood or even charcoal makes the meat taste better. The soups were pretty good though and the atmosphere is nice. However if you want good korean bbq I recommend brothers restaurant on geary over this one...it's not as nice looking but the food is better and more authentic.
- Pros: clean environment
A table full of food
by oneadidasfan at Citysearch
A friend and I ate here for the first time yesterday. Although the service was poor (we seated ourselves), the food was excellent! Along with our main dishes, we were brought nearly 15 different side dishes of Korean vegetables. There were even five different types of kimchi to try!
- Pros: Variety of food, Food served quickly, Easy parking
- Cons: Overpriced, Poor service, Moderate settings

As an LA-native, I was skeptical of how good any SF Korean restaurants would be compared to the ones in LA. I've tried a plethora of SF Korean restaurants, and was left extremely disappointed...fortunately, I found Korea House. Delicious food, relaxing atmosphere, and thoughtful service. Been recommending Korea House ever since.
Simply put - Korea House is the best Korean restaurant in SF. Don't miss out on this SF treat.
- Pros: Great service, Variety of food, Exceptional dishes
- Cons: Crowded at times
Authentic Korean food and great service

This is by far the best Korean restaurant in the city. I don't know what the last reviewer was smoking. The person should stop writing reviews and go take some English classes. I've had many a group dinners there and have never been disappointed. The meat is always fresh and they never skimp. The service is spectacular and the side dishes are mmm-mmm tasty! Let me also point out that aside from the yummy food, the place is clean and authentic. This place rocks.
- Pros: Big portions, Authentic taste, Great service
- Cons: Not good for diets, Hot wait staff
I was ashamed!!

I found this restaurant by this site. Then I decided to have my coworkers welcome party at this restaurant. We were 8 people, restaurant wasnt busy at that time but we had only one griller table. Fire wasnt strong enough either big enough, it took forever to cook. They use frozen meet, shrimps wasnt fresh at all. They gave Korean pancake on house. But it wasnt worse to give for free, taste too oily and stiff I felt sorry for all my coworkers.
I disagree and Im mad that why this restaurant has the best point of Korean restaurant in this site!!
- Cons: difficult park, expensive

Side dishes there remind me of home, that is best compliment I can give! YUM YUM!
- Pros: No wait, Side Dishes, Tasty
- Cons: No bar
Take it from this Korean

Having lived in Korea the past 7 years, nary a Korean restaurant recommended to me would deserve a writeup in citysearch. But NewKorea is pretty good. I've been here 8 times since moving (I've tried many in the bayarea including Koryo in Oakland, Brothers in SF, and Palace in San Jose...even SullungJungMoon on Balboa) and New Korea is the best overall. Forget the barbecue momentarily b/c the basics are important: the kimchi and acorn gelatin on scallion soy "banchan" are excellent. The stews are stocked and tasty. Try the HaejangGuk. If you're really into barbecue, deliberately smoky atmosphere at Brothers may give the impression that it's an authentic place, but in the end the taste is king. Don't get shrimp or chicken barbecue (ridiculous). Order the kalbi and be roasting garlic. The marinade rocks. The greens are always crisp for the wrapping. If you have room, get seafood pancakes.
- Pros: basics are good, friendly staff, best ambience
- Cons: parking is no good, slightly pricey
