A deep-sea watering hole with daily specials in Pac Heights.

by Contributor

In Short
Large plate-glass windows at the entrance give this small pub a fish bowl-like quality. The aqua walls are also adorned accordingly--mermaids, surfboards and seashells. The crowd consists of Pac Heights' 20- and 30-somethings meeting for a few drinks. It's typically friendly and laid-back at happy hour, and crowded and loud on weekend nights. Crowd-pleasers like Al Green and the Stones fill the jukebox.

Best Jukebox in the City!

by thatblondgirl

I love the Fish Bowl, it is by far the best local watering hole in the city...I know that's a bold statement, but they have great music, friendly and attentive bartenders, drinks specials every night, great partons and an atmosphere that guarentees a good time! It can get a little crowded on weekends past 11, but that's because this is a kickass place to be!

  • Pros: service, jukebox, atmosphere
  • Cons: parking, can get crowded, one bathroom

Yeah! Sports!

This is an awesome locals bar that has a chill atmosphere and amazing people. The service is super duper with fun bartenders. Its not a sports bar, but it's awesome watching sportscenter there with the boys. I love hanging out at this bar and shooting the s%&* with the bartenders. Recommended 110%!

  • Pros: drinks, people, music

What a Great Bar!!!

by houchen

My wife & I visited the fishbowl during a recent 2 week trip around California. It was our first night out in the USA and what a night!

The barman was superb, the drinks and cocktails top notch and the locals were a blast.

The fishbowl will always be a fond memory for us, we will return, even if it is half way around the world.

  • Pros: Friendly Cool Service, Atmosphere & Music, Drinks & Great Locals
  • Cons: , none, none

Dive in!

I have had a great time every visit to the 'Bowl. The bartenders are always friendly, not to mention pretty funny. Plus, the juke box rocks and you can order Frankie's there. And to top it off, many good looking boys, too. What else can you ask for?!?! I used to live caddycorner from the bar...Fish Bowl is so what the neighborhood needed. Great place to go after work or later in the night on a wednesday

  • Pros: fun atmosphere, good drinks/specials, cool bartenders

LOVE THE FISH BOWL!

by kstancik

I don't know about the negative reviews, but I've never had anything but FUN at the Fish Bowl. The service is great and friendly; I've never waited more than a minute or so for a drink. The drinks, by the way, are ridiculously strong (go for a $5 Hurricane on Tuesday... one is all you need, two and you'll be hurting Wed morning) and there are drink specials EVERY day (including Sunday Bloodies Sunday, $3 Bloody Marys). The crowd is always fun too, not pretentious, not boring... just laid-back and looking for a good time.

The best thing about the Fish Bowl? Fabulous food from Frankie's next door... Try the Gilroy burger, but only if you love garlic!

  • Pros: Drink specials, Great food, Good crowd
