Unfortunately, I wasn't lucky enough to have the same great experience as the others had who have seen Dr. Kennedy. My appointment was with the other Dr. I can't remember the name now, just the miserable experience is what has stuck. I mentioned up front that I would be purchasing new glasses, wanted a new contact prescription, but did not want to purchase contacts at this time. This doctor is in the wrong business, he doesn't care at all about retaining clients or for their medical health. He is salesman. He wants to make as much money per customer as possible. I am proud to say that I put up a fight and after a personal email from Dr. Whoever, I did get my prescription mailed to me. So I confirm with the other posts where they also had bad experiences with the contact policy. The glasses selection is decent. The prices are high and the service is miserable especially from the doctor. You can be that I will be finding a new optometrist, which is unfortunate. I think if I'd seen Kathleen, it would have bee a different story. She seems to actually care about retaining a client and not just the sale of the contact prescription. Pay me now or walk without your prescription. Even though the eye exam and prescription had been determined, it was essentially held for ransom. The feeble attempt to retain the client came a couple weeks later with the email to allow the prescription to be released. Good luck Dr. Salesman.

Low-key, no-attitude examination with high-tech equipment. No waiting, no fuss. They also have a good selection of frames (but why do all eye doctors have you pick out frames after your eyes are dilated from the exam?!) Nothing tacky or pushy. No problem in getting your prescription to take home -- a past eye doctor resisted giving me the Rx so I couldn't get glasses elsewhere.

Pros: Professional, attitude-free care

I've now been seeing Dr. Kennedy for more than 6 years. She and her staff are very very good...responsive, caring, and professional. The exams are very thorough. And the selection of frames and fittings are great! I still get compliments on the frames I just replaced. Could not ask for a better experience !!

Pros: exam, staff, selection

Cons: somewhat pricy

Kathleen: Thank you so much for the professionalism I received when I visited your office. You and your staff made my visit very enjoyable and thorough. In this day and age it is hard to find an optometrist as warm and caring as you. You were never in a hurry and took as much time as I needed to answer all my questions. Thank you, Thank you. I have been going to For Your Eyes Only for 7 years and have had only excellent experiences. Dr. Kennedy is not only a great doctor, but is friendly and fun. She's totally in tune with the neighborhood. It seems everyone in the Castro knows her and loves her. Two of my friends get their eye exams from one of the other doctors at For Your Eyes Only and they think he's really great too. Dr. Kennedy's style seems to rub off on the staff who are friendly and helpful. I have bought 6 pairs of glasses there over the years and still wear all of them. I got good help from the staff but never felt undue pressure to buy anything. I'm glad we have such a great optometry office in the neighborhood!

Fabulous frames, wide selection from really hip and now to fool-em conservative. The opticians are very attentive and really engaged me in helping me pick the frames that were right for me. The exam was very professional, thorough and fun! I love Doctor Kennedy, I've been seeing her for years. I don't what the issue the other reviewers are talking about with the contact lenses. I didn't run into that at all. the staff has changed over the years but they've usually adopted Dr. KK's enthusiasm and professionalism. It's infectious. I always look forward to my appointments there and leave knowing my eye care is excellent and I've enjoyed myself too.

Pros: Friendly, Professional, Fun

This place had a nice selection of eyewear. Nice, newly remodeled office is great -- very clean and modern. The eye exam seemed very thorough and professional. Staff was friendly, although the eye doctor could have shown more of a sincere interest in me as a patient. I felt like there was no real doctor-patient relationship built at all. I also was frustrated by their contact lense policy -- they won't allow you access to it for three full months.

Pros: Nice office., Good selection., Thorough exam.

Cons: Contact lense policy.

Great newly expanded office with a wide selection of frames. The staff is patient and friendly. They are very thorough and you are not rushed through. They helped me pick out the last set of frames and I have never received so many compliments.

Be careful. They "won't release" your contact perscription for THREE months after the exam -- basically forcing you to purchase contacts through them.
