Perfect for a grown-up tea party!
by baychick
This place is adorable and charming, and the delicious food is the perfect complement to the quaint atmosphere. The vintage dishware, art, and antique knickknacks are fun and create a comfortable vibe, and the staff is friendly and knowledgable. Guests are seated on low, plush antique chairs and couches. The presentation is phenomenal: dishes come served on stacked silver tiers. The scones and lemon curd, strawberry preserves and cream, and crustless cucumber sandwiches are amazing, and actually do fill you up. This is a great place to take friends or guests for a late lunch or Sunday brunch, because it is a new and different treat.
- Pros: cute atmosphere, delicious food, great service
- Cons: a bit overpriced
Wonderful, wonderful place

Lovejoy's is so charming, I went there 2 weekends in a row! So much fun having a tea party with the girls. The food is great - the scones are amazing and I don't even like scones that much. The ambiance is perfect, all the mismatched tea cups and plates, crocheted throws, furniture - everything!
- Pros: food, (especially) ambiance, service
- Cons: not open Monday-Tuesday
a cup of tea can bring you back to your childhood tea party days!

i love this place!
i brought my sister here because she was having a bad day and i was craving some good tea. we came in and we fell in love. it was like when we were children, playing tea party.
the ambience of this place is cozy and antiquish. the cups and mismatching in a fashionable way. the chairs comfie. and tables tiny.
we sat down and ordered our tea and our waitress was helpful with the decision of which tea to have. the food was delicious.
Best place for Sunday Brunch...

I had family in town from SC and we decided to take them to LoveJoy's and they had such a good time. They could not stop talking about the ambience and the great service and the wonderful food. It does not look like much food but once you have it you are totally full. Also the teas were excellent and the waitresses knew what they were talking about when recommending the perfect tea. This is a place that i will take all out of town guest!
- Pros: Ambience, Service, Selections
- Cons: Parking
Wonderful place!

What you MUST order: tea, crumpets + lemon curd, scones + devon cream + strawberry preserves, and sausage rolls. The shepherd's pie is also pretty good but I don't crave it like I do the other things listed above. To avoid: the tea sandwiches which are basically 90% bread + 10% mediocre fillings. This place is the cutest and so much fun to relax in. Afterwards, stop in the antique shop across the street, which also sells teas, the devon cream, and lemon curd. Bottomless pot of tea goes a long way! YUM
- Pros: fun experience, cute decor, yummy tea + snacks
- Cons: bad tea sandwiches
This eminently civilized incarnation of an English cottage suits its charming Noe Valley neighborhood.

In Short
This cozy eatery doubles as an antique dealer. Everything--delicate love seats, mismatched serving dishes, aged tea pots--is for sale. There are several teatime menus available, including pear and Stilton tea sandwiches or warm cake-like scones accompanied by thick strawberry preserves and double Devon cream. Make sure to sample the selection of fruit-flavored teas.
