In Short
Over the years, this neighborhood shop has become better known for its specialty java than its selection of imported Italian and domestic cheeses. While one counter in the store remains devoted to the latter, hard-to-find offerings like Kauai Extra Fancy Kona, organic fair trade blends and a roster of exotic flavors ranging from Southern pecan to cinnamon Frangelico constitute the main draw. Eight daily brews, muffins and breakfast pastries satisfy patrons on the go.

Great Cheap Coffee Beans

The best--and cheapest--coffee beans in the city. They have dozens of kinds, but I'm happiest with the straight-up French roast or slightly mellower Viennese roast. They also sell a small selection of cheese, crackers, euro-chocolates and cookies, and as well as loose tea and teabags. Always freshly roasted, never over-burnt like Peet's.
