One our best dinning experiences during our trip. During a recent vacation to San Francisco, my wife and I were advised to try a meal at the Tadich Grill by a bartender who we meet while staying in the area. We arrived around 7PM on a Wed night with no reservation so we took two seats at the counter. The food was great, the service was super, the bartender which we sat near was entertaining as well as precise. I've worked in the food and beverage business myself when I was younger and I understand the business. The prices were very reasonable in comparision to other establishments we visited during our weeks visit in the Bay Area. I'd go there several times a month if I lived in the area. We enjoyed the experience and would recommend the place to anyone that would like a great meal at a fair price that is off the tourist path so to speak.

What is the future for Tadich Grill?. Our family has been eating at Tadich Grill for over 40 years. Even though we now are scattered across the US we have always enjoyed meeting at Tadich. I have taken business associates there for lunch and dinner and it has always lived up to expectations.

I had dinner there Saturday to celebrate 37 years of marriage. Having taken friends from out of town there 6 weeks ago I was unpleasantly surprised this time. I have enjoyed being waited on by men that I have seen working there for years. This time I did not see any familiar faces. The prices have gone up drastically for both the bar and food. We have always had a small dinner salad before dinner but not at $11.50. The price of a drink has almost doubled as well. We always used to look forward to just popping in at Tadich Grill as it was reasonably priced and friendly. Now we will have to think twice about going back. With the economy the way it is they have priced it out of our range.

Maybe they don't want locals but just want to become a tourist restaurant.

never disapoints. you know, the food is not the best, the service leaves a bit to be desired and its not really cheap. and ya know what i love it. soo old school, such good food, great martinis, and the bartenders are always great for conversation.

i will always look forward to my next visit at this iconic SF establishment

Tadich Grill disappointment. We only had one night in San Fran and in the past this was our favorite restaurant. We had oh, so slow service and mediocre food. Veggies were cooked long before they were served. Fish was fresh but just that with no sauce to accent it. A few french fries were on the plate.

I'll never go back and am disappointed that I wasted my one night on a failed experience.

Not worth the money!. Arrived 4:30ish, Fri. Feb. 25th. Restaurant not busy. Four of us, sister/hubby were pciked up from Pier 35 cruise ship. They wanted to go to Tadich, as they remembered it to be great! We were misinformed about valet parking by adjacent businesses; starts about 5:45 PM. Had to wait till husband got back from parking car in a garage about 3 blocks away. Ordered cocktails and it took a very long time before they were delivered to our table. Food not great; vegetables overcooked. For the $19.00+ entree costs, food should have been fabulous and was not. Slow service. Tadich is no longer great....will not return.

Oldest restaurant in SF. You have to eat at this place if only for the fact that it is the first restaurant in SF! The seafood is amazing and the service was friendly and knowledgable. They have a HUGE menu!

Disappointment. Sat at a nice table. We ordered drinks and Oysters and a Crab Leg Cocktail. Wish they had a crab we could crack. The oysters weren't shucked properly....the bottom muscles weren't cut. When the server asked how everything was, we mentioned the oysters. He didn't say a word and walked away.

The Ciopinno was good, but not nearly as good as at Soto Mare in North Beach. All of their food was much better and the service was friendly. This place needs to think of the customers more than themselves.

Fantastic Food - Great Management. Always so much fun, meeting new people from all over the world. Usually a wait, but half the fun giving you the opportunity to talk to people. The Manager Rick is warm, welcoming and always makes you feel like you're the most important person in the room.

Great addition to the staff! Been going there for 30 years...now it's better than ever!
