peanut butter cups are delicious. My favs of the night- cheddar biscuits are rich, soft and buttery but, the real deal is dessert. Peanut butter cups and apple crisp I will go back for.

The real San Francisco treat!. This has got to be one of my favorite restaurants in the city. It's a real San Francisco treat when you dine here. Their service is excellent. Their staff is attentive and accommodating. Their food is great. I recommend their Chicken Schnitzel. It's rather Americanized, but still wonderful. Looking that the restaurant from the outside, it simply looks like a mere humble All-American diner. But once you step into the restaurant, you'll be surprised at the interior design. This place is truly a must see and must taste. One disappointment that I have is that they stopped making their creme brulee. That's a shame because it's the best creme brulee I've ever had, and I've had plenty of creme brulee's in my life time.…
not really a diner, small portions, big prices, snooty people. i guess it was my fault i thought diner actually meant diner, the kind of place that serves homecooked-style comfort food. oh well. money isnt really an issue unless the food is not filling. and this place definitely was not filling. the sandwiches were miniature sized... like something from costco in the sampler platter. not very tasteful either. looked good... very presentable, but bland on the tastebuds. the best part was my meal were the fries. how sad is that?? oh well... wont be back here again.... unless i wanna see snooty people sit around acting rich/fake and pretending that the food is great.…
inconsistent service leaves a bad taste in the mouth....... If you are are a local to the Bay Area, I would say check this place out just to get it out of your system. It's fun. I've been coming here for years now and the food is really good. My only complaint is the service is very inconsistent. My last visit here I got a a stiff treatment from the bartender that made my wine taste sour. I mentioned to the bartender that I was interested in trying out one of their pinot noir, I had never had it and wanted to give it a try. He then pours me a glass. I took a couple of sips and realized it wasn't for me and I told him I wanted something else instead. He looks at me tells me very coldly that I should've asked for a taste so that he wouldn't have poured me a glass. I was taken aback by this. Needless to say this was not the first time I had gotten less than professional treatment here from the staff. The food is good here, but the service is not as. With all of the great choices here in the city I would suggest something else rather than this place unless you don't mind not so good service to go w/ your good but not "great" food.…
An elegant Embarcadero restaurant that takes the classic American diner upscale..
The Scene
From outside, this eatery looks like a traditional Middle American coffee shop, complete with aluminum siding. The interior, however, is luxe, with a spotless cream-and-dark-wood
dining room that has a trim, yacht-like feel, and a sparkling art-deco bar. The crowd spans all ages, from lunching businesspeople to tourists.
The Food
A list of refined and reworked diner favorites are the hallmark of the all-American menu. Chicken hash is updated with lobster and fresh corn; chili is made with chunks of high-quality steak. Even french fries approach the divine, made with Yukon Gold spuds and tossed in truffle oil and Asiago. A made-to-order bowlful of chowder floats freshly steamed clams, forever erasing the memory of pasty soups past. Sandwiches are two-fisted and onion rings appear in crispy tempura-like batter. Dessert classics like root-beer float or dreamy fruit cobblers are just the thing to launch yet another diet.…
Tourist Only! Worst Salad!. I had to eat in this place without reading any reviews. I ordered Caesar's Salad because I thought nobody cannot make any mistakes on salad. Well, I was wrong. I never see this Caesar's Salad before!!! Actually, they just cut the bottom of romain heart. Then, put dressing over it plus one tiny anchovy. 10-12 crushed croutons. That's it. If they claim it is a "restaurant", food should be put decorative, or atleast look good. I felt like I was an idiot to order small Romain heart for 10 bucks. Also, I had to wait for this plate more than 25 minutes. Do not go this restaurant unless you have to.…
Decent food, comfortable atmosphere, nice bartender. I took my Mom out for dinner at Fog City Saturday night. We were told there was a 1/2 hour wait for two. We waited well over an hour and there were plenty of open seats. The hostess was not very pleasant or apologetic about our wait. The very nice and entertaining bartender and the prompt waitress made-up for the aloof hostess. Our food was good. The crab cakes were crispy and yummy. The butter lettuce salad was okay, but a bit short on apple slices and a small for the price $14 (youd expect an entree size). The hanger steak was tender but crispy on the edges (cooked perfectly) and the cabernet sauce was very good. The Fog City house chardonnay by the glass was priced well at $6. The atmosphere was casual and the lighting low so you could enjoy some people watching outside.…
Worst Food Ever. My Husband and I were visting the San Francisco area for the first time so we were very excited to find a little diner to have a nice dinner. When we walked in it was not the old little dinner we know. It felt a little odd the people sitting in the place were kind of stuck up and not friendly. The service was fake and not friendly. When we were handed the menu we looked at it and did not what to order, the food was stuff that we would never eat. My husband got the roast and he said that it had to flovor and I got the hamburger it also was tasteless and gressy. We did not enjoy the meal we even got sick from the grease.…
