Friendly neighborhood lesbian bar
by redswanwest at Citysearch
My girlfriend and I found this little crowded neighborhood bar on our trip to San Francisco. We were a little uncomfortable at first as most were in their 20's. We are 40's and 50. Music was old and new rock and CW. Drinks were cheap and plenty strong. We watched and then invited ourselves to play pool on the one table. We danced and talked to the girls. They were very friendly. It was the manager's birthday and we all sang happy birthday. We recently set our wedding date and the ladies seemed excited for us. We had to start turning down free drinks. We had a great time and will go back next time we are in SF. Thanks ladies
- Pros: friendly ladies of all types, inexpensive
- Cons: small place, small dance floor
Ladies who like ladies love this Mission bar's come-hither decor and hip attitude.

In Short
The Lexington Club is the place to be for young lesbians in San Francisco. With its dark-red walls, church pews for benches and stellar jukebox, this low-key watering hole is a rarity in the city's male-oriented bar scene. There's a happening pool table and friendly crowd, as well as inexpensive beer and well drinks. Rotating artwork on the walls showcases local and national talent.
- Pros: Great vibe
- Cons: Plenty attitude
Rather boring

My girlfriend and I went here earlier this month and expected the place to be much bigger- it was just a small bar, pool table and a few seats. There was a jukebox into which I put a dollar only to discover it wasn't responding. I asked the lady behind the bar if she would sort it out for me but she didn't- very unhelpful. I didn't think much of this place and it was difficult to get to.
- Pros: Good if you just want to be in a lesbian bar and don't care if it's not that great
- Cons: No atmosphere, unhelpful member of staff, very small
everything is awesone EXCEPT the girls

sweet place. love the decor, great priced drinks, nice bartender with a great eye for fasion. the jukebox rocked me world and there were even weights to build your biceps when waiting for the bathroom (okay, it was just a poney keg, but i got a work out). you may be wondering why one would kick it in the corner and lift a keg. well, i will tell you. THE GIRLS AT THIS BAR ARE THE MOST BAAARF NASTY DISGUSTING CREATURES ON THE FACE OF THIS EARTH!!!! (unless of course you like anorexic coke heads with hair matted to their heads and dirty wife beaters with holes and sweat stains. okay, in the bars defense there was some diversity. there was also the fat old biker dyykes with their big black leather jackets and buzz cuts. hmmm, im being really hard on this place. every so often you will come across a hot girl, but wait that girl is me! and no, i dont go here very often...so yes, basically this place sux...unless you happen to go when im there...k, im done
- Pros: bartenders fashion knowledge, decor, prices
- Cons: BARFO NASTY WOMEN
Mature lesbians STAY AWAY!!!
by cathyl1027 at Citysearch
I read the reviews on this and other sites and thought it would be a good place to visit when I was in San Fran on business. I have not been that uncomfortable in a very long time. The bar tender was smoking outside and eventually came in to take my drink order. She was nice enough, but I felt very uncomfortable. It was obvious I was a visitor, but no effort was made to make me feel comfortable or welcome, but then again she was just a baby and didn't have the skill to tend bar with a diverse customer base (diverse meaning older).
I just wanted to warn all you over thirty lesbians looking for a bar to hang out and have a drink while in San Fran - stay away from the Lexington. This and other web sites are not very explicit in the description of this bar. If you are young, with hair the color of the sky sticking stright up on your head and tats up and down your arm - this is your place. But those of us more mature type, just looking for a friendly, quiet place to have a cocktail should save the cab fare (it cost me $15 each way to check this place out) we don't belong!!
Disappointed

I went on a Thursday during happy hour in mid Feb. Whe I arrived there was one patron in the bar and the bartender was playing a game on the bartop system. When she finished her game she finally asked what I wanted. A few minutes later her friends came so she went outside with them without seeing if we needed anything first. No one else arrived. the hour I was there and the service was sub-par
- Pros: inexpensive
- Cons: bad service, empty, no parking
A place of our own!

Full of girls of all types. Cheap drinks, lots of flirting. 20 something crowd, felt a little ancient at first. Plenty of people to make me feel welcome. Not bothered by the gawkers, men have to be escorted to enter. Great place to burn some calories and work up a sweat.
- Pros: atmosphere, girls!, cheap drinks
- Cons: , service questionable, pool table busy
are you butch or femme?
by boysforpele at Citysearch
If neither, you're probably SOL as far as meeing other women. The butch/femme scene must have started in this bar. You can find your fair share of mullets here, surprising for SF. Crowd is very reserved and suspisoucs, slightly curious at the most. Drinks are cheap and the usual fair is offered. Sometimes they offer great drink specials, you can get canned beer for a buck. I guess service depends on the bartender, but its usually good considering how crowded the place usually is. The bar itself is pretty relaxed and cruisy. Neighboorhood is mixed so take a cab at night.
- Pros: SF's only dyke bar, great drink speicals, cruisy women
- Cons: cliquey, no dancing/jukebox, small and crowed
Nice bartenders - Good VIBE
by droolie at Citysearch
Well, one could argue that it is in fact the ONLY chick bar in SF sans rotating venues. It's nice and quaint and warm with red walls and friendly barmaids. I've heard it referred to it as "Home of the Homely", so if your aesthetic tastes run towards shallow and you're looking for love, this might not be the place. But if you just want a beer with good friends in the only lesbetian bar in SF, then hey, this is the place!!!
Nothing But the Real Girls
by katz_in_town at Citysearch
On the trip to the Motherland from the world of LA, my friend took me and my S.O. here. Lemme just say, no matter how cool and hip we think we are in LA LA Land, we're obviously not cool enough to have a place like this. The crowd is 100% real with no attitude. That Saturday night was standing room only, trust me though, you won't mind. The drinks were about medium cost but the ambiance is absolutely priceless.
- Pros: Atmosphere, No Cover
