Bad bad bad

by SaraLibre

They add a healthcare surcharge onto your bill along with a note saying that they are proud to provide healthcare to their workers. I think that's great. I think everyone should have health coverage. What they don't tell you is that they are actually suing the city over it's new universal healthcare program. I hate to think that they are using my money to take away people's health care .

Best Burger

by kjmaui

Hands down the best burger in San Francisco...tried the turkey sandwich, but just go for the burger, period. You won't be disappointed.

  • Pros: Street parking available, bus service nearby, casual dining, best burger in San Francisco
  • Cons: No reservation policy

Good Food but Poor Service

by foodie000

Yes, Slow Club has good comfort food - turkey sausage hash for breakfast and hamburger for lunch. However, be prepared to tolerate poor service from the host and waitstaff.

Case in point: The host will take your name but only call it once inside the restaurant before moving on to the next party. I had advised her that we were waiting outside as the waitlist crowd had spilled from inside to the sidewalk outside. Therefore, several parties, who chose to wait inside, jumped the queue ahead of those waiting outside. When this issue was raised, the host was dismissive. Upon being seated, be prepared for slow service. The waitstaff is stretched thin so they don't come by as often to refill drinks, etc.

Go for the food, not the service.

  • Pros: Parking, Prices
  • Cons: Service

Colorful New American cuisine dished in industrial Portrero confines with a 30-something bar crowd.

by Contributor

In Short
This T-shaped space is aptly named, as it does not accept reservations. But the see-and-be-seen patrons don't seem to mind mingling to upbeat rhythms at the low-ceiling bar. The adjacent dining area features simple tables flanked by white and charcoal-gray walls; a couple windows provide glimpses of two outside tables. A chef's station in the far corner sits in plain view. Farm-fresh ingredients are used in the daily updated menu.

Breakfast just off the beaten path

by thejakethe

I recommend the turkey sausage hash, but everything on the menu is familiar and tasty. Moderately priced, always a place to park, and almost never a line. How many other breakfast spots in SF can you say that about?

Brunch was ok, not as expected

by mkbauer

I was there for brunch one day. The salad was excellent, loved it. Other than that, food overall was ok. Did not impress me much.

  • Pros: Service

Good spot for brunch

by emou

I've been to that place 3 times, each time for brunch. I like the decor, the ambience, the food. I've tried many things with friends, all tasty; but my favorite is the hamburger. I crave for hamburger on week-ends and that one is good, fries are crunchy. Ceasar salad is recommended too, i always asked for the sauce on the side because they put a lot of sauce.

  • Pros: Good food, nice ambience, pretty decor
  • Cons: Noisy when crowded

Best Bartender

by timtruett

This is a very, very good restaurant. But an even better bar - perhaps too small, but friendly, cool, excellent service, and great people. Torre is the best bartender in San Francisco!

  • Pros: Excellent food, better bar, very good service
  • Cons: a bit out of the way unless you're in the Mission or at KQED.

great american cuisine

by jadefox415

i love the slow club, the food is fresh and flavorful. it is the one resturant where i feel like it belongs in nyc. it is in an rather quiet industiral area, and when you enter the place, it is just hopping. i go for the food and the great drinks, they make good stiff cocktails and my favorite is the margarita, i think they make the best in town. fresh squeeze lime and no mix. try this place you will feel like you are in another city.

  • Pros: great food
  • Cons: none

Awesome Dinner!

by sugargirlj

The food and service completely exceeded my expectations. The cocktails were deeelicious, and food was perfect. Okay, the homemade fettucine was a bit lacking; they didn't use enough eggs in the pasta and not nearly enough sauce/oil so all the noodles were really doughy and stuck together in one big knot. But the burger was outstanding, perfect fries, and I highly recommend the flat bread. Service was friendly and attentive, and I saw nothing but happy customers eating all around us. Highly recommend, very good value, tasty, friendly!

  • Pros: Friendly, attentive, Easy parking, Tasty & good value
  • Cons: homemade pasta ;-(, can get a bit loud
