best sports bar in SF
by bethany0 at Citysearch
Great beer selection. Great TV's. Great crowd!
- Pros: FUN
The worst sports experience ever
by rockdaly at Citysearch
This bar is a total disgrace. It is filled with posers that have no interest in the games on the TV. The bartender makes comments if you actually cheer for your team. The bathroom sink was overflowing with the former contents of a patrons stomach and the place is generally filthy. When I was there, locals rallied together and threw out a perfectly harmless fan for no good reason. Avoid this hell hole, there are many great sports bars in the city; this is not one of them.
- Pros: Decent Beer List
- Cons: Everything else, filthy, pompous non-sports fans everywhere
My favorite SF Sports Bar
by tiffopogo at Citysearch
Green's is my favorite place to catch the March Madness Tourney, or watch college football when my home team is away. The staff is really friendly--particularly Shannon, the most patient cocktail waitress on the planet--and the environment is really chill.
It's a favorite hang out for college sports, and they treat repeat customers really well. I have been watching sports there for the last ten years in part because of the great service. Even when things get hectic, the staff takes it with a smile.
- Pros: Great staff, great attitude, awesome place to watch sports
- Cons: can get crowded
Love love love this place

Friendly bartenders; way friendly fellow customers; everyone is hanging around and rooting for their teams and good naturedly heckling each other. Joy!
- Pros: clientele, many tvs, beer
- Cons: not enough seats
Great Times

Great place, good people, and hot waitresses! Everyone........just get out of their way when they have 16 beers on a tray.
Best Sports Bar in the City!

For those of you that have moved to SF and are dying to find a place where you can see your favorite hometown teams - look no further, Green's is the place to go. Not only do they offer every good game possible on HDTV, but just ask Serge (the owner) and he'll try and accommodate your strangest request (Iowa basketball anyone?). Plus, the staff is really friendly and the place is chill.
Better than home

This is a great place! I went to watch a game and ended up staying all day. It was so much fun! There are so many TVs- even a big screen with HD-couldn't believe it! It was better than home!
- Pros: TV's, Fun, Friendly
A Russian Hill hangout with an East Coast clientele and array of athletic paraphernalia.

In Short
The interior's dark-wood paneling is covered with framed photos--from an autographed pic of boxing champ Marvin Hagler to vintage Sports Illustrated covers. A large stained-glass mural of a Giants baseball occupies the back wall. Though the space is small and can get packed, the double doors and large street window are typically kept open. Seating includes bar stools and seats at wooden tables near the entrance. A pool table and video games are near the back.
Greatest sf sports bar

I love this place. I am new to the city and this is the first place that I have been to that made me feel like this was home! This is a great place to watch a game! The energy in there makes you feel like you are at the game- best bar I have been to here!
- Pros: crowd, service, good drinks
It is what it is
by pizzymcgith at Citysearch
Big, crowded loud, with lots of TVs on Russian Hill. Seriously, this place doesn't need a review - you could guess what it will be like from a mile away. Only reason I wrote this review is that there are several really poor bartenders there and it often takes an unreasonably long time to get a drink, seemingly because they don't feel like getting around to it.
