We happened on Frascati by accident and didn't expect much. I thought it might be nice but I was blown away by the Lobster Risotto. It was one of those meals that made me sad as I got closer and closer to the end. I almost ordered a second helping. It was so good I forgot about everything else: service, wine, appetizers. Since I don't remember I suppose they were good. I look forward to going again.
Pros: Lobster Risotto
Cons: ?????

What is Frascati good for? A whole bunch of BAD ATTITUDE. You should only eat here if you want to get yelled at by the service staff for them throwing away your to go box. This is one of those cases where I would give ZERO stars but Citysearch won't let me. After a lovely time stuffing ourselves with savories and bread, I could not eat one more bite of my order of lamb. One order supplies five chops. I couldn't finish my dinner so I asked for a box. So did my halibut girlfriend and my pork chop girlfriend. Halibut and Pork Chop got their boxes right away. When I inquired about my to go box, I was told that it was waiting for me at the door. A few moments later one of the service staff came over and said, "I asked you if you wanted a box and you said, 'No.'" I was shocked because Halibut had asked for a box for both of us and when the service staff took my plate I said that I wanted a box. Perhaps he heard what he wanted to hear. He did not apologize. He said that it was MY FAULT for him hearing that I said that I didn't want a box. He basically called me out in front of the whole restaurant saying that I was making up the fact that I wanted /didn't want a box. I had TWO LAMB CHOPS and 75% of my ratatouille left on my plate. I arranged it to look pretty on my plate. WHO WOULD THROW AWAY $20 leftovers??? Obviously he would. I was shaking mad and asked to talk to the manager. The manager came over and said that he regretted the situation and offered to make a PASTA dish or a BREAD PUDDING dessert for me to take home. YEAH RIGHT. Like a $5 dish will make up for my bruised ego and $50 dinner. He did not once apologize for the situation and he did not once offer to have the service staff come over to apologize for me. The only consolation that I have for tonight is that I was with ten girlfriends who will no doubt spread the bad news of Frascati far and wide.
Pros: There's plenty of bread.
Cons: The service staff will yell at you if he thinks you're wrong.

I had a wonderful experience! We were seated at a romantic table on the balcony, The service was great and our server was extremely knowledgeable, even telling us that our bottle of wine was corked. The food was delicious. I had a bread salad and salmon in an orange sauce, which was fantastic, and my boyfriend raved about the pork. all in all a perfect night out.

Wonderful meal! Wonderful service. The only thing I can complain about is the size of the bathroom. Absolutely delightful. This is my new favorite.

Remembering how good this place is makes me want to cry. This was 'our' spot - every meal we ever had here blew our minds - I don't think I will ever eat this good again. This was our #1 recommendation to friends, clients, colleagues, family, etc. and we will be back on our vacations. Our only regret is we no longer live in SF to enjoy this special restaurant, on a special street, in an incredible neighborhood, in the best city in the US. Advice: Make reservations a month in advance, ask for the upstairs seating (overlooking the kitchen if available), ask the waiter for a wine recommendation (they always pick the best one), and sit back and order the menu (cheese plate, dinner, desert, coffee). Everything about this place says class and San Francisco.
Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere
Cons: parking, parking, parking

Small and intimate, with an extremely friendly and experienced staff. The figs and prosciutto are the best we have had. Few entree choices, but all are wonderfully prepared. The wine list is well chosen and peppered with unusaul bottles (try the Browns Zin). No dinner is complete without the bread pudding.
Pros: food was terriffic
Cons: not cheap

Just stumbled into this place taking some visitors around. Truly good cooking here. Great risotto, prawns that actually taste like prawns. Gnocchi with actual flavor. Low-key atmosphere. Great. Wine list could use spiffying up.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! I've had dinners here several times and without fail it is always very delicious. Their duck entree is fabulous, so is the risotto, the pork loins... oh and their bread pudding is really very, very, DELICIOUS! I had a lovely dinner for 2 there this past weekend - we had a nice table for 2 upstairs. Our waitress was great - she knew the food and wine well and confidently gave suggestions that my guest and I much appreciated. The ambiance was cozy, romantic and in a way relaxing. I found out about this place through friends that live nearby and this is one of their staple restaurants; and I have recommended this place to other people, who have had great things to say about it, too. Hope you will enjoy as much as my friends and I have!
Pros: Good wine, dessert, food
Cons: It can get warm upstairs, but it's well worth it (I think) for the food.

Without fail, Frascati delivers a wonderful dining experience. The food is fantastic and the menu always offers an interesting selection. We had at least two different wait staff take care of us in addition to our waiter, so the service is exemplary. We are SF foodies, and this is where I choose to spend my birthday dinner celebration with my wife. Our blackberry cobbler even came with a candle on it! Our waiter always seems to have an interest in the food he delivers and what you might enjoy. We always try to get the table overlooking the restaurant on the balcony. It is a good people-watching spot. Frascati is a wonderful, romantic setting that always delivers pleasant memories.
Pros: ambiance, wine list!!!!, food quality
Cons: dark corners

Went to Frascati on May 4 - hadn't been there for years. The food was great - we had the mussels and gnocchi to start, followed by the halibut, duck pork. Service, unfortunately, was lacking - after taking our order, our waiter was not to be seen again until after our entrees arrived, and then only to take our dessert order and drop off the check. We sat with empty water glasses for ten minutes and finally had to ask for refills. Butter was requested twice and never came. Not once did our wine glasses get refilled. Despite the good food, it's hard to want to return when the service is non-existent.
Pros: food, portions
Cons: service, loud
