Fabulous Wedding Venue
by Dree317 at Citysearch
I got married and had my reception here a couple of years ago and the service and food were fabulous. The ambience is spectacular and the food is mouth watering especially the appetizers. I will be forever grateful to the management and staff for creating such a beautiful memory.
A Hollywood-like setting and sophisticated Vietnamese fare converge in Ghirardelli Square.

The Scene
The name means "beautiful refuge," and the place absolutely lives up to it, from silk-uniformed staff to potted palm trees. It may be in Ghirardelli Square, but it's tropical grandeur all the way--the ceiling is sky-high and the space is defined by dark carved-wood detailing. The sweeping staircase even has its own koi pond.
The Food
French-accented Vietnamese dishes meet utterly fresh ingredients with gorgeous, delectable results. Wrap the deservedly acclaimed crab, shrimp and shiitake imperial rolls in a lettuce leaf with mint for extra crunch. Striped bass seviche, draped over cucumber and shallots in rice vinegar and chili oil, is a revelation in taste and texture. An entree of enormous freshwater prawns with a rich turbinado sugar glaze flecked with chili pepper is superb. Moist, marvelously flavorful quail with plum sauce is architecturally presented with sweetish black sticky rice.
Best Vietnamese Place Ever!

I loved this restaruant. This place has the best French/Vietnamese Fusion taste. I loved the atmosphere and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

This place is great! I would come here all the time if it wasn't as pricey as it is, but it makes a wonderful special occasion spot. It's multi level and the atmosphere is great. Has a beautiful decor and the staff is very professional and knowledgable on the menu. They have a fun drink menu, and even better food and small plate menu. My favorite way to come here is with a large group so you can get tons of plates and share them so you get to taste everything!
- Pros: menu, staff, atmosphere
- Cons: pricey
Great Food
by casea33 at Citysearch
I love this restaurant. Their bar is very sheik and the food is wonderful. I would return on a monthly basis if i could afford it. We always order a lot of food because everything is so tempting that when the check comes we're a little scared but it's always worth it. We've never had bad service here. I would recommend this place to anyone, especially if you're looking for a special occasion or something romantic.
- Pros: wonderful menu and food treats
- Cons: a little pricey
A splurge for sure
by ieatallthetime at Citysearch
Beautiful location, beautiful restaurant, beautiful food and drink presentation. Definitely a place to take a special date or impress out-of-towners. Not for the faint of pocketbook, though - a few entrees and some cocktails can set you into next week's paycheck.
Great service, though. You pay a little bit more than what you get, but it's a must-try at least once. This place has it down to an art.
- Pros: Location, ambiance, service
- Cons: Parking, pricey
Seamless service, awesome food and a personal touch

It was my first anniverysary and I made reservations thru opentable. I asked for a quiet table which we were given. I love the service -- everything arrives right on time. Waiters come and go without stumbling over each other and making a scene. We had the price fixe meal and everything was utterly delicious. The topper was when our dessert arrived -- a plate with happy anniversay written on it. May sound cheesy, but it made our visit all the more memorable. Drinks and music are great too.
- Pros: Service, Food
- Cons: Parking

I've been here several times and have never been disappointed. I'd consider the food more of a "fusion" menu, and all of it is great. The service is also fantastic (there is one waiter in particular whose name escapes me who will always recommend the night's top dishes on the menu- take his advice! he is completley correct). And, if you go upstairs after dinner for drinks or dessert, you can often catch some very good live music. Great date spot, very good food, and a fun but not overly trendy ambience. Highly recommended.
- Pros: Food, service, ambience
- Cons: a little overpriced
Fine Vietnamese Dining and Lounging
by jo_martini at Citysearch
I'm always on CitySearch for restaurant/lounge suggestions. I've never written a review before, but can't deny that Ana Mandara and the Cham Lounge are absolutely worthy of one. I agree, the food is expensive, but remember you are also paying for the ambience, service, and menu selections. If it's not in your budget, please don't go.
The dishes are very tasty. I've dined there at least five times and appreciate the service. The cocktail selections are delightful. The lounge seating is inviting. It's such a cool and pretty place to be. The bartenders are attentive. The sommelier is knowledgeable and easy to talk to. The bartender, Ryan, is the best!
Great Date Spot

My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary. The ambiance, food, and service are top-notch and we would definitely come back again. It's the perfect place to go on a date because you could always walk over to Ghirardelli Square right after.
