Grr!!!
by partaaaay
Man, this place has lost its luster! We entertained out of town guests (from LA) at this place and all we had was beautiful surroundings and food that wasn't upto snuff. Bland, boring, sedate; you get the picture. The wait staff was less than astute too, which made our experience even worse! Grr!!!
Good/not great

Dined on Saturday night. Restaurant was not overly busy. Seated in second tier area facing the Bay. Great view, romantic setting. Service was good, not great. Food was good, not great. Somewhat overpriced. Chain restaurant affiliated with McCormick & Schmick. I won't trash the place with this review, but there are better restaurants in San Francisco. You're paying a premium for the view.
- Pros: The View/location in Fisherman's Wharf
- Cons: Overpriced
less than okay food

My Boyfriend, old coworker and I dined here last week. I have to say...the views were spectacular however the food (and I never say this) was garbage. I dine regularly in NYC at well known steak houses. My boyfriend ordered a steak that tasted like hamburger meat...that would be fine if it didn't cost $30. It was honestly quiet gross. I had the sea scallops and they were nothing to write home about. The only thing positive to say about this place is the view.
- Pros: the view
- Cons: the wait staff, the food
Good family restaurant

When i first when i saw the main menu i was disappointed because i only saw seafood.
I like seafood but i just wasn't really in the mood for it.
I asked to see the kids menu, because i'm eleven so i'm sorta in between.
Restaurants should have a tween menu, too!
So i scanned the kids menu and all i saw was fettuchini which i love but i prefer it with cheese sauce which wasn't on the menu.
When the waiter came to take our order i asked if he could make a cheese sauce.
He said he could.
I was expecting a huge serving of oil and cheese with a few pieces of pasta.
But when i took my first bite of the alfredo...
i fell in love with it. It was so delicious.
It was perfect.
It was the best i've ever had!!!!!!!
I was very pleased with the service and so were my dad and my sister who had come with me.
I definitely recommend McCormick & Kuletos.
Disappointment

My wife and I dinned here in June 2008.
With reservations we waited 20 minutes. Strike One!
Ordered a $30 bottle of wine that should have not even made the wine list. Strike Two!
Menu was fantastic. I ordered the sea bass. Normally sea bass is about an inch or more tall with the actual size dependent on the price of the dish. What I got was one of those flash frozen flat fillets. The entire dish was underwhelming. Strike Three!
Stay away
- Pros: Kinda of a nice view
- Cons: Don't eat here

Made reservations for their special Veterans' Day dinner, several days before Nov. 11, 2007 but found out on Nov. 11, 2007 they had deleted it. We asked for a window table since they had space an hour earlier at 5 pm - they didn't give us a window table even though there were six or seven window table available for over an hour. Apparently, the host doesn't like Asian World War II vets.
Food: Appetizer - Oyster Sampler, Cobb Salad
Entree: Pacific Seafood Stew, Scallops over Crab cakes, Grilled Trout, Sashimi Combo
DON'T offer oysters in the half shell with shell fragments in it !! Every oyster had shell fragments.
Cobb Salad was passable.
Scallops over Crab cakes - crab cakes were good but the scallops were salty.
Grilled Trout was tasteless and the vegetable were uncooked.
Pacific Seafood Stew and Sashimi Combo were forgettable.
Even with complimentary entree for the two veterans in the family this dinner cost over $100.00 for four people. In our opinion, food was overpriced and not good. Pet peeve - paying big bucks for lousy food.
Not coming here again.
- Pros: view
- Cons: Host, parking
tourist trap.

there are better places! we are tourists and went because we thought we'd get really good seafood with a view. well, if that's what you're looking for, go out to the cliff house. McCormick & Kuleto's has average food, it just happens to be in a great location with a great view. i was unimpressed with the ambiance... the lighting was really bright, the walls are dirty, the bathrooms need updating... the place has a lot of potential, but they don't seem to care because they know they have a lot of tourist traffic. however, the cliff house is EXCELLENT! a few of the locals gave the cliff house bad reviews, but we found it to be amazing and well priced! wonderful view, clean, and GREAT food!!! if you can't drive there, take bus 38 all the way out there. it's worth it! get there early.
- Pros: location
- Cons: tourist trap... surprisingly dirty
Lovely views, average food.

Being a nyc foodie and first time SF visitor, some local friends suggested I meet them here my first night in town (they lived nearby). It's a large, airy restaurant with lovely views. It struck me as a nice family-style place, especially good for large groups. Overall the food was average - I would not call it gourmet. (The lobster rolls were particularly tasty). The menu is quite varied - something for everyone. While it's not on the level of other, more "fine-dining" places in town (see my review of Gary Danko...) the meal was a decent start to my week in SF. Service was good and prices were reasonable.
