My favorite clothing boutique in the United States!!

by profpam

I L-O-V-E this boutique. The clothes are fabulous and are not sold at all the other cookie-cutter boutiques all over the country. The salespeople were so very, very helpful and the owner, Sheri, is around to offer advice on everything. I bought some Isabel Marant items the first day and came back the next day for more. Lots of girls weren't spending the kind of money I did, and they were also treated like royalty. Yes, the clothes are pricey, but the quality and uniqueness is so very, very worth it. Check out their Mayle, Humanoid, Gary Graham, Golden Goose boots, and the skinny jeans that are as soft as leggings. Do not miss this place when you are in San Francisco.

  • Pros: EVERTHING!!!!
  • Cons: No place to park -- walk or take public transportation there

Awesome jewelry

by yeehauser

I went into Metier years ago to buy a dress for a wedding. Not only did I come out of there with the dress, but while I was in the dressing room, my then boyfriend (now husband) bought me a Cathy Waterman ring. I had been drooling over the ring and the sales staff was gracious enough to send the ring to his work so that I wouldn't have clue that he bought it. Needless to say, we've been back for Cathy Waterman rings as anniversary and baby gifts. The clothes are awesome, but the jewelry is beautiful and the staff is very helpful and will spend so much time helping you decide on the right piece of jewelry for you.

  • Pros: Jewelry, staff, selection of clothing
  • Cons: Parking

Pleasant surprise!

by agentred

First, the jewelry is absolutely wonderful and unique. I am extremely discriminating when it comes to jewelry and they definitely had an excellent selection (new and some antique/vintage). Second, they really have nice clothes from great designers and from names I haven't heard of. Mostly casual. I found two cashmere sweaters marked down from 400 to about 80 with no flaws. They are gorgeous and I wear them constantly. The prices are high and if that matters to you, make sure to go during a sale. I am still swooning over the jewelry myself. Finally, although the dressing rooms are a bit minimalist, there is a comfy seating area just outside the dressing rooms.

  • Pros: unique , high quality, great taste
  • Cons: costly

Diamonds are a girl's best friend--but the sapphires at this jewelry boutique aren't bad either.

by Contributor

In Short
Sublime Cathy Waterman jewelry that has adorned the necks and appendages of Nicole Kidman and Julia Roberts can be found in this chic, downtown boutique. All pretty women will swoon when presented with one of Waterman's intricate rings of banded flowers and vines; they make for unique engagement and wedding bands. Known for her delicate, feminine style, Waterman works solely with 22-carat gold, platinum, diamonds and other precious stones. In addition to rings, you'll find equally beautiful necklaces, bracelets and earrings.

Friendly staff!

by zffan

A friend recommended Metier when I moved to San Francisco last year. I was pleased with the non-pushy service and awesome clothing selection. From Mayle to Habitual, Metier carries my favorite brands and even a small shoe selection that includes Loeffler Randall. Another plus... the jewelry! Now I have a place to send my husband for our next anniversary!

  • Pros: Cathy Waterman, , hard to find brands
