I should have learned my lesson
by partaaaay
I should have learned my lesson, but 2 years in a row now, Neiman has been "burning me" around Christmastime. By this, I mean that I constantly receive emails from them saying that there's still time to shop for a xmas present,...and they just don't send the gifts on time.
I swear, if it wasn't for their goodies I can't find anywhere else, I'd totally stop shopping from them in a heartbeat.
for crying out loud!

I just received an order I placed through this store today. The bad part is that I ordered it even before Christmas and it's just now that it arrived? This was part of a Christmas present, for crying out loud!
RUDE help
by kdlc
so i totally shop online coz i'm too lazy to go to the store, and am not too enthusiastic about the stuck up help, as a matter of fact, which is one of the major reasons. but when i get jipped with a bunch of completely ugly stuff, i have to return them, right?
well, if i send it through the mail, i'll get charged shipping, so i have to return at the store.
what i always encounter is RUDE help, who act as if i just did something wrong to one of them or something. same thing, san francisco or palo alto stores.
considering i literally spend several thousand bucks a month on these bas$@%^&, i really do think i deserve better customer service!
Luxury department store combines haute couture and classic elegance.

In Short
In 1907, the first Neiman Marcus opened in Dallas. Today, you can buy ready-to-wear clothes at locations from coast to coast. Shelves hold merchandise from an all-star team of designers: Manolo Blahnik, Anne Klein, Dolce & Gabbana and more. The shoe department is small and upscale: think Fendi and Prada. Personal shoppers are available to track down the perfect Chanel nail polish to complement the Kate Spade bag that matches the DKNY skirt.
Avoid the FreshMarket
by schmurby
I love shopping at NM, even though their prices are high. The First Call/Last Call sales are always great for finding luxury items for somewhat of a discount. You can sign up for e-mail updates and go on the first day for best selection.
The FreshMarket, however, is something else. First time I went there, I stood next to the "please wait to be seated" but the servers ignored me. The "ladies who lunch" behind me got seated right away. Second time I went, I got a sandwich to go. The menu said it has roast turkey, avocado, Maui onion marmalade or something, lettuce, tomato. The sandwich I took home only had turkey, lettuce, and tomato with NO CONDIMENTS. They charged me almost $10 for that skimpy, dry sandwich. $1000 for a Chanel purse? Yes. $10 for a small sandwich misrepresented on the menu? No.

- Cons: sometime expensive
Shopaholic's Downfall
by booty168
Neiman Marcus has very reasonable prices in terms of markup, and the service is generally good. The sales staff in the shoe dept. is always very helpful. I would have to agree that their credit card policy is annoying at times, but when you apply for a Neiman Marcus card you get a $20 gift card for free. (now if only you could buy something for $20 there... =P)
Consistentl Great Shopping!

Customer service is alive and great at Neiman Marcus. The salespersons know their customers and take very good care of you. And despite being called "needless mark-up," prices are the same as at Nordstrom, Macy's and Saks for comparable merchandise. (They also have more high-end stuff.) They have the best cosmetics. They may have even pioneered the "rewards" program (their InCircle program). Their cafe is wonderful, and the Rotunda restaurant is fantastic! I LOVE THIS PLACE!
- Pros: Great service, Great merchandise, The best cosmetics
