Great Experience

by TashaKitty

I needed storage space in my bedroom and found Oyster Bed chest beds as a great option. I ordered the bed on line, and then read these reviews & was concerned. But my experience was totally different - bed is solid and well made, drawers have smooth slides. Comes in modular pieces you have to assemble, but did it in about 2 hours, including putting mattress back together. Beds are made on site. Warehouse guy helped load so it was packed well for the drive home. I am very pleased!

  • Pros: solid quality construction at competative price
  • Cons: Had to drive to SF to pick up & Giants lost that day

No Pearl in This Oyster!

by NothinButLuv

Yes speaking of damaged furniture, my mom also received her table damaged when they delivered it to her house. As for myself, I've been screwed over by them as well. I had purchased a table set successfully through them and tried to order a chair as well. For whatever reason, they sell stuff that's not in stock and then make false promises that you'll receive them within 3-6 weeks. On top of that, they want YOU to leave a deposit to ensure that the customer doesn't screw them over. Well, turns out that they couldn't deliver and when I asked for my deposit back, 'Alexis' promised to give me store credit. Then when I went back to collect my deposit by purchasing another item, Alexis informs me that she has no record of it on her system! So I never got my deposit back! Let it be warned that they deliver damaged furniture or no furniture at all! There are plenty of decent furniture places in the Bay Area especially those who wouldn't steal from customers! So don't be fooled, you wouldn't find any pearls in this little oyster of a business.

Worst service in the city

by amourence

The first time I gave the owner the benefit of the doubt, figured she was having a bad day. But the second time she made me wait 10 minutes to tell me that she couldn't help me and had a permanent scowl on her face from the moment I walked in.

p.s. the 70% warehouse sale is a hoax, she won't even open it up to show!

Horrible quality

by joebsf

The beds you see in the showroom are great. What is delivered to you is horrible. My chest bed has drawers with the plywood sides splitting. The veneer started to come off almost immediately. I have been gluing it back on since it was delivered. The delivery/installation guys slapped the bed together so carelessly that it's off center. Do NOT buy here.
