Nicely appointed, very good... but not ...excellent!. We had a great get-away to S.F. and would have liked our bargain hunting to lead to a 5-star experience. But we settled for a better rate and probably got what our criteria deserved. Room was very nice but compact, Internet was $14.95 per day, mini-bar was stocked way above our cost of living. Our bed was like sleeping in the bottom of a big soft pipe and the complementary coffee machine was replaced after just two calls to request one that worked!

Simple, modern and elegant, this centrally located hotel is ideal for business and pleasure.. The Scene
Stepping into the Argent, one feels certain that the hotel's seven-year, $10,000,000 renovation was worth it. An abundance of mahogany, gold leaf and earth tones makes the vast lobby a warm, welcoming space. The custom-designed furniture and fixtures are modern yet understated, creating an ambience that's both cool and classic. When you notice a tiny decorative motif from the first-floor carpeting repeated in the sheer curtains in front of your room's floor-to-ceiling windows, you'll know you're in good hands.

The Rooms
The simple-yet-swanky design scheme is carried over to the hotel's 667 rooms and suites, most of which offer stunning views of San Francisco. All rooms boast overstuffed lounge chairs, original artwork and Gilchrist & Soames toiletries, among other luxuries.

Unimpressive. Rude registration staff, terrible valet parking, poor service in general. Very disappointing.

Great Stay at Argent!. My husband and I were very impressed with our 5 night stay. We had booked inexpensively online, and when we arrived, we requested a high floor room with a view. They bumped us up to the 33rd floor and even gave us breakfast and happy hour coupons to use every day of our stay!

Maid service was also excellent. I called and requested a fridge, bathrobe, and sewing kit, and they instantly obliged.

The hotel is in a prime location and we were able to walk to Pac Bell Park, Union Square, etc.. We would definitely stay there again. A+++

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. This hotel was located in the most prime location. I recommend walking around town. You are right next to Union Square and a shopping mall. The Embarcadero is not far either. It's primely located downtown, and I really like being in the center of everything. The service was fair and the room quality was excellent. The decor was beautiful. It's amenities were great and the value was awesome. My one complaint lies with parking. It's 32$ valet parking per day and it takes them 30 minutes to get your car because there's not enough space to bring the cars in. It's rather ridiculous. However, my experience at the Argent was proven to be a wonderful one.
