Yerba Buena Gardens has areas that please the young and old. With the gardens and waterfalls, one can sit and read or dream. Younger visitors love the play area and the large play balls. Don't forget to bowl 10 frames while you're there, ride the merri-go-round, and check in on the skating rink!

Pros: FREE, peaceful, appeals to many ages

Cons: the walk from bart, beggars, smog

The garden's main musical activity is the Summer Stages program. From May through October, a series of music, dance and spoken-word performances happen during the week at lunchtime and at various times on weekends.
