Amazing Brazilian Band! Samba Beauties!

by dancegirl21

Went to see the Grupo Da Sete that plays there every Sunday and got a free Samba lesson from some drunk brazilian girl with legs up to my head, very lovely. I drank three caparainas (sp?) made with some south american booze, very fun. Wish the band played past 11.

Bad! Bad! Bad!

by whipcream

The astonishingly rude and unprofessional bartender kept our change and when we asked for it he informed us that it was his tip. Instead of apologizing and bringing us our change he informed us again that that's the way it is, even yelling at us and insulting us as we walked out the door, while he kept a 50 percent tip for terrible, surly service and weak drinks. We would have tipped him, but it should be up to us, not him. If you go, pay with a charge card or exact change if you want to decide how much the tip is going to be.

  • Cons: rude service, weak drinks, expensive

Music 5 stars

by ivy2006

I loved the music here! I haven't been to a club/bar in a long time that made me just happy to hear the songs & smile. It was way to crowded people were pushing, shoving & grabbing you. When I ask for Grey Goose they looked at me crazy & said they didn't have it. There really isn't a dance floor so expect to just stand & move your head. The bouncer was so nice & the crowd had so many nationalities I liked that. Needless to say I left after 2 hours & went to a club where I could dance but the songs from SkyLark were in my head & I was in a good mood.

  • Pros: Music
  • Cons: Parking, Crowded, Small

Awesome spot in the Mission

by ndnguy

I did not expect to have so much fun at this bar! The music on Fridays is really good and the people there are pretty friendly. It's fun if you go with a big group. It's not the greatest place to hook up, but it's close to everything and fun. Overall I would highly recommend this place if you're not looking to go to a huge club.

  • Pros: drinks, music, crowd
  • Cons: small

A cosmopolitan-sipping crowd and local DJs come together at this Mission hotspot.

by Contributor

Crimson-lit with a long bar and a DJ and dancefloor at the back, family-sized booths up front, and tables and chairs running along the right side and back sections of the room. The crowd ranges from well-dressed to thug-lite--a mammoth security guard strips young men of their wangsta attire at the door--and music is mostly hip-hop but can range from reggae to samba.
All-night drink specials like Patron and Corona for $10 take it easy on your wallet, if not on your on liver, and go ahead and flirt if you see someone who's easy on the eyes; they're probably just as drunk as you.

Good dance club

by tildenm

If what you are looking for is a floor filled with young attractive folks, you may want to head on down to the Mission to Skylark. While the floor is a bit small, it is packed on weekend nights and a good place all in all.

Super duper

by faulders3000

The Skylark is the perfect place for a drink with family members and friends who are interested in the arts. The people walking in and out of the bar are interesting and the neighborhood is definately lively. The Skylark puts one in the mood for a Bud long-neck beer.

  • Pros: cool
  • Cons: used to be smokey

Service stinx

by sheitzen

Atmosphere is cool, crowd is ok...but the bartenders don't know how to deal with a packed house--they are SLOW and rude and don't make great drinks for all the time they spend on them

  • Pros: crowd
  • Cons: service, lousy drinks

It's just plain FUN

by amberelektra

Get there early and grab a seat at the bar or at one of the tables along the walls. Once there, don't give up that seat for anything because you'll regret it. Around 9:30 or 10:00pm the place starts to get packed. There are a number of great things about this place: location, great drinks, friendly bartenders (my favorite would have to be Scott...YUM!! I'd like to take a tequila shot out of those dimples!), great DJ's (at least every time I've been there) and a friendly crowd. The crowd is ecelctic, meaning that there are plenty of local hipsters, but the marina has some people representing too...A fun place for a night out on the town with your possee.

Damn Good Music

by sipht

Thursday night is the night for Skylark, with crazy good music and little to no crowd. Small dancefloor is perfect when everyone else is too reserved to dance. The atmosphere and music is simply crazy good. I did notice a the marina-types, but it's fine when they're sitting and I'm dancing. If you want to dance to good jazzy beats, hit up Skylark on Thursdays.

  • Pros: Thursday Night, Great Atmosphere, Cool late night crowd
  • Cons: small dance floor
