Excellent Mens Department

by sjwharton

I hate shopping, I think most guys do. However the people who work the mens department make this shopping as painless as possible. I'm usually in and out under thirty minutes. I do have to say the denim selection in the Powell Nordstrom is the best in the bay.

  • Pros: Excellent selection
  • Cons: rarely any sales

Best Customer Service in the Women's Shoe Department

by ssimm

I went in to Nordstroms yesterday and was looking at the new shoes in the womens shoe department. A young man came up to me and asked that when I was ready to look at the shoes, to let him know and he would be glad to help me. I did see some shoes I wanted to try on, and he brought those cheerfully and quickly to me, along with some others he thought I might be interested in. Wow - was he ever right about a couple of things! First of all, it was the BEST customer service I have received in the Nordstroms shoe department in YEARS. Personalized and customized and friendly. And he brought so many darling shoes to me that I didn't know which I could actually buy....a wonderful predicament to be in!

The BEST service is from PATRICK. He is new to womens shoes, and is from Scottsdale and is just a wonderful, energetic and positive person to spend time with! Tell him a friend of Bill W. sent you...you will not be disappointed.

  • Pros: Patrick!

Legendary service, shoes to die for and fashion-forward merchandise keep shoppers returning.

In Short
Founded as a Seattle shoe store in 1901, this popular chain is now known for manageably priced designer duds. Shoppers find a hint of sophistication in the store's white floors and pianists on baby grands. Unique departments include the Brass Plum juniors' section with Ruby Rox and Diesel, and Studio 121 for career-savvy women. A business-centric men's clothing department offers Ben Sherman suits, while relaxed styles from Marc Jacobs and Lacoste are in The Rail department.

  • Pros: High-end items
  • Cons: Department store

Great customer service

by mickeydee

My friend and I went to the busy Macy's make-up dept (Clinique) to purchase 1 or 2 items. We asked if there were any promotional "free gift with purchase". The nice employee explained that their next promotion would begin in about 3 weeks but she would check to see if there were any leftovers from the previous promotion. My friend's purchases qualified for the free gift but mine did not. However, the employee was kind enough to give me one--without any attitude as she handed it to me.

  • Pros: Shopping!!
  • Cons: Parking!!

Excellent customer service!

by eni1orac

Always customer-friendly in returns, exchanges, and whatnot. The street-level cafe is excellent, too-- quick service, friendly staff, and good, reasonably priced coffee.

  • Pros: Customer-friendly.
  • Cons: Somewhat limited selection.

One of The Best

You can't talk about SF shopping without talking about NORDSTROM. Customer sevice is excellent, not big on variety, but what they do have are hard 2 find items.

  • Pros: customer service, quality, unique items
  • Cons: , more stuff for women

Surely you Jest

Nordstrom's Shoe Salon used to be the reason I was drawn to this store. Over the years they have been surpassed by Nieman's San Francisco and even Saks Fifth Avenue for that matter.

  • Pros: Service
  • Cons: Not enough designers

Nordstrom cafe has great service

by hedgefund

After a long hard day of shopping, I was pleasantly greeted by the staff of the cafe. I was greeted by a friendly french accent and an offer to seat me. the whole experience was lovely and very European. It reminds me of the wonderful cafes atop museums in Paris and Amsterdam. the staff was friendly, funny and courteous.

  • Pros: friendly staff, good food
  • Cons: pay at register
