If you had trouble at this salon like me, take a drive to Sacramento and get your hair done by Elon at Deeda Salon. So worth the drive! Best cut and color ever! Never been this happy with my hair!

Colorists are not knowledgable enough to create great color. If you see what the employees hair, you'll understand. The blonde's are hued with purple or green highlights and look extremely overprocessed. The cuts are not any better than what you get at a school. Most of the stylists are distracted and uninterested. The price you pay is outrageous, for hair that is below standard! Also, when they wash your hair, you can easily strain your neck in the sink area, and most of the assistants will burn your scalp with hot water and get you soaked. The entire experience is long and torturous. Thumbs Down for this place!
Pros: None
Cons: Many

Beware. I went here for a haircut and ended up finding a $100 overcharge on my credit card statement. Hair cut was fine...if you go, pay with cash.

When I leave the salon I expect to look great! Don' t you? I n't that why you pay bucks? I expect to walk out and look HOT! NOT! How can I look worse leaving= frousy, frizzy, scalp burning and a psycho color reminescent of grayish, khaki, dishwasher swampy? Did I mention and in tears dropping $250 for a supercut chop and a mess made of my blondish straight short hair? Of course no tip. Before returning to work I had to wash my hair down with water. When your friends tell you "it's not that bad"....IT IS BAD! They are too embarassed to tell you. Did I mention I was referred to this haircolorist and stylist? OMG! The next day I sent a letter to the manager and received NO response via phone or letter. It's been 3 weeks of "house frouse hair" How'zat for service? Don't bother.

I was trying to decide between a few salons and finally settled on this one mostly because I like the name. It's a "nice" space (could use updating and more lights) and the stylists look funky, have edgy haircuts so you'd expect something along the same lines if you asked for it...not so. Maybe they get their haircuts at one of the other salons I was considering. (It wasn't just my haircut, I took note of the other clients too.) And the consultation they promote on their website? I believe that was a joke. Before I could even finish talking through what I wanted, the stylist actually cut me off. Overall... this place is just, eh. And watch out for the unprofessional receptionist- she'll rip you a new one if you ask questions she doesn't feel like answering.
Pros: nice windows to look out of
Cons: not as skilled as you'd think

I ama girl who is incredibly picky and am very sensitive concerning my haircuts and color. I have been getting my haircut here for about 1 1/2 years by Jean. Once i find someone good i become very loyal. Jean is an amazing stylist and colorist. She was always very sweet..even though i can be difficult. I would tell her what I wanted and she would give me that and more. I quickly learned she knew what looked good on me better than I did (but she is not pushy at all, she is very respectful of your boundaries and needs). I love the fact that they touch up bangs for free a few weeks after your haircut. The staff is absolutely wonderful! They are always friendly, upbeat and respectful...even if you have a million questions. and they give the best massages when they wash your hair! Its not the cheapest place...but it is worth it. I have gone to many other salons and here i never felt guilty about the price. I highly recommend Cowboy's and Angels to anyone and especially those of you who have been traumatized by bad haircut/color. I just moved from San Francisco and am seriously thinking about flying back to the city for a haircut! All the stylists are absolutely amazing, but because of my personal experience with Jean...she is the BEST!!!
Pros: Staff, skill, value, quality, relaxing, good magazines ...everything
Cons: Its SF so not much parking, but the Macy's parking lot is really close

Have always been told I have nice, thick hair. Mostly straight but can def. jut out at the wrong places. Have been rotating between chin/shoulder length bobs and longer, angled cuts my whole life. Typically not wanting to spend the cash on a recommended, upscale place and too hesitant to let the stylist at your typical salon go to work on my hair -- hence, stuck to safe. When I finally decided I was ready to spruce up the cut and let someone have some creative say over what should be done with my moppy hair, a friend recommended Cowboys and Angels. Didnt wait too long when I went i nfor my first appt. Friendly reception. Nice wash. Nothing too over the top, but comfortable in an urban-warehouse kinda way. Really, the one reason I now dish out over $100 to get my hair cut is bc my stylist, Cole, is just awesome. Shes totally personable and does such great work with my hair (dark, thick, straight, japanese/italian hair)... I feel Im never able to describe exactly what I want, or if it is even possible. But, just giving Cole the parameters of what I need/want (light on bottom, no hairdrying, etc), she is is always able to come up with a fitting and awesome cut. Definitely my fav hair stylist to date in pretty much every way!
Pros: friendly, great cuts
Cons: pricey, loud (?)

Being a hairstylist, I am not an easy client to please. I always look forward to visiting David for my cut and Michael for my color. Besides the fact that they are both beautiful to look at, they both really understand the meaning of beautiful hair. They both know 100 percent how to make a woman feel beautiful and glamorous through receiving beautiful hair. I feel like they truly listen to what I want and always exceed my expectations. I highly recommend the both of them if you are looking to feel like your best about your hair. I also love the salon as well. The will treat you with the respect and comfort you deserve as a paying client. When you walk in the salon you are greated by people who care to see you, especially Oliver. He is so warm and professional. (Not to mention beautiful!) You have to go experience David and Michael, they are the best in San Francisco!
Pros: Great location, amazingly talented staff, relaxing head massage with the best product in the world, Bumble and Bumble
Cons: No cons

My hair never looks better than after Nichole works her magic! Worth every penny - From the minute you call followed by your appointment, then consultation to the assistants at the shampoo station everything makes this experience top of line. Quality & Service are unmatched in my book - You'll be delighted every step of the way!
Pros: Expertise & Quality Service
Cons: Busy Powell Street - But, you can always make a shopping trip?!

First and only experience: Stylist (Katie) was right on time for my color appointment (I hate waiting my turn at a salon, you make an appointment for a reason!). She listened to what I was looking for and gave me exactly that. Moved right into my hair cut with Rory who is absolutely adorable, stylish and down to earth at the same time. I walked away in 2 hours flat with a fab new color and the hipster hair-do I was looking for. Plus product & tip the total charge was $237 - but hey Im worth it right!?!?
