OK
by ladye81 at Citysearch
This place is ok if you just need somewhere to sleep. It was clean, it was ok. The cafe' downstairs is closed, which was a drag, and the continental breakfast consisted of coffee, tea and toast. It is within walking distance to Union Square and Market Street, Powell, pretty much all the good shopping areas. The city has a fantastic public transportation system, and this hotel has a bus stop right outside the door for one of the main lines, which we took all the way to Golden Gate Park. Overall, it was ok. Not great, but it was affordable and decent. I went in the winter, and the heating does work, the fan was the only way to cool off the room, and it was loud. But I may stay again if I was short on cash and just wanted a decent place to stay.
- Pros: Close to Union Square, shopping & major bus line
- Cons: very basic, closed cafe, loud fans, no AC
Basic accommodations at affordable rates one block from the theater district.
