Excellent Source for Testosterone for Trans Guys
by judeparker
Are you a trans guy without health insurance or whose insurance does not cover testosterone prescriptions? After my Healthnet HMO denied my testosterone gel prescription and I learned that a one month supply out of pocket is $250.00, my doctor referred me to a compound pharmacist to formulate a topical testosterone cream, my preferred method.
I discovered Rexall and Sam, the longtime owner and Compound Pharmacist, took great care in ensuring my prescription was formulated precisely and was affordable. Upon understanding that I am transgender, he continued to be incredibly friendly and humbly offered personalized, expert, and quality advice. I can't imagine using another pharmacy for my testosterone.
Rexall is the only owner-run compounding pharmacy left in San Francisco, and what could be better than supporting a local, neighborhood-based small business?! Sam maintains a small-town-feel with strong values to strive to understand the pharmaceutical needs of everybody who walks through his door.
- Pros: Personalized Service, Expert/Experienced Compound Pharmacist, Huge Selection of Homeopathic Meds, Parking
Hours open not helpful to working/busy people
by da31
The hours for this pharmacy are no longer convenient for most people: Monday-Friday 10am- 6pm, closed on Sunday. I made the mistake of getting to the pharmacy late on a Saturday and not realizing the place was closed on Sunday, went without my medication for two days. Nowhere in the pharmacy did I see any notice that they were closed on Sunday. Reliable Rexall pharmacy hours are awful for working people. Be warned.
- Pros: Polite service
- Cons: Horrible hours

Personalized Service

I had an arthritis condition that required me to take copious amounts of Ibuprofen, but it gave me gastric problems. I never considered using topical cremes compounded by the pharmacist/owner, Sam Ching. He is a goldmine of information and he really cares about getting the results you seek.
- Pros: Helpful, Knowledgeable, Problem-solvers
- Cons: , Busy
a druggist who knows things
by pamching
Not many pharmacists can actually make the medications that cure. Sam Ching's knowledge is based on 40 years of experience in the business.
- Pros: service oriented, compounding pharmacy
- Cons: wait time, hours of operation
