Some of San Francisco's best views, gourmet food and after-dinner dancing.

The Scene
Located on the top floor of the downtown Hilton Hotel, this upscale restaurant-lounge features stunning 20-feet-tall windows with sweeping panoramas of the bay, bridges and beyond. White-clothed tables, a wide bar and a gargantuan skylight enhance the dramatic setting. The gracious service, refreshingly devoid of pretense and attitude, is extremely accommodating to a well-heeled crowd of locals and out-of-towners.
The Food
The ambitious menu features seasonal produce and top-notch ingredients. The simple preparations are the strongest: Dungeness crab cakes, crispy outside and succulent inside, drizzled with remoulade, detonating the delicate briny flavor. Likewise, a cream of labster bisque soup comes alive with cognac and tarragon. There's also rabbit and foie gras galantine accompanied by Asiago cheese. A basic filet mignon is nicely grilled, and a light pomegranate sauce enlivens pistachio-encrusted salmon, perched atop roasted butternutsquash, mushrooms and spinach.
You're Just paying for the view

I took my boyfriend to Cityscape because I had heard that the view was phenomenom. I made a reservation early in the day for the same night. We took bart; so that we didn't have to worry about parking, but later learned that Cityscape covers the parking fee. The atmosphere is very romantic with dim lights and an excellent view of San Francisco. Perfect if you want to have private converstaions. We were seated immediately upon arrival and were given our menus and hard bread. The bread looked like it had been sitting out for a while. The menu's were really small, plain and overly expensive. I ordered the chicken rosstiere: the chicken was very plain and the mashed patatoes were ehh-ok, my boyfriend ordered grilled angus steak with the frys and he said they were nothing out of the ordinary. As appetizers, we ordered the Apple salad and the lobster bisque. The salad was the only good thing and was not so expensive. All in all, the total was $95. i thought that the food lacked alot of flavor and the portions were small for the amount of money being spent. We pretty much paid for the view. If you want to impress someone special; this is the place, just keep in mind you are paying a large amount for it and not the food.
- Pros: View, Free Parking, Romantic
- Cons: Too expensive, plain food
Good but pricey

I had Sunday brunch buffet last weekend. Beautiful views and a jazz band playing. This place definitely touristy. Food was good. Recommend lamb chops, caviar, crab claws, shrimp, and good selection of desserts. Very pricey! Our party of 20 ended up in the $1300 range (tax & tip included). Nice experience.
- Pros: Excellent view of SF
- Cons: Price
