Wonderful View

My wife & I had dinner here last night celebrating our anniiversary. The view was spectacular and we were graced with a beautiful sunset. Food was certainly better than okay but just as certainly not superb. As previous reviews have mentioned, you're paying for the view here. We knew that going in; even so, $175 for 2, with no alcohol at all, seems a bit steep for a meal significantly less than stellar. The service also appeared to be iffy at best. Our service was okay but the tables near us had several issues throughout the evening that seemed to take an inordinate amount of time to resolve. I had the crab cake as an appetizer; pretty good but not the best I've had. My wife had the tuna tartare; she was very happy with it. My lamp chops were very nice & prepared just right. My wife had the prime rib; it was very rare as she wanted but she indicated there wasn't a lot of flavor to it. The tiramisu desert was wonderful. We also got the cheese & fruit platter to bring back to our room -- big mistake; it was by far the worst $16.00 dish I've ever had.

Good for a high school prom date

Look. The views are nice. And depending on your location, it is possible to have something of a romantic encounter with your loved-one.

But the food. It's nowhere near on par with any of the good restaurants of SF. There's no presentation quality in any of the offerings from the service to the flatware to the food itself.

All of this is obvious before even reaching your table. The hosts are unprofessional. The decore is dated. The service is bus-boyish. The menus are average. The wine list is so-so. And the food... it's like you're eating good "room service" food.

Believe the reviews which question the quality of food for the price... they're accurate. All you're paying for is the not-so-bad views.

Just go for dessert and drink

This is a great place for after dinner dessert and drinks, save your money and have dinner elsewhere. The view and restaurant setting was great. Staff wasn't very friendly though!
