I LOVE this place!!!
by jaqandchris
This place has just the right blend of spices, herbs and seasoning. Not too hot and spicy for this white boy. It is family owned and they took good care of my fiance and I. The shrimp pad thai was the bomb. My fiance had some type of shrimp curry. Get a Thai Iced Tea as well.
- Pros: Super Friendly Staff and Authentic Thai
- Cons: I always want to eat more!
Prices Much Higher Than Shown on Website
by BillBuster
Because of information I read about this restaurant on this website, I and two friends visited Thepin Thai in April 2009.. We found all the prices substantially higher than shown on the website.
Yet when we pointed this out to our server we were told this "is not our website" and he refused to charge the prices shown there, make any allowances or even apologize.
In my opinion, this website represents the restaurant and regardless of who hosts it should not be a surprise that customers will expect to pay prices close to those shown here.
We will not return as we found the prices too high for the quality of food served.
- Pros: Decent Food
- Cons: Overpriced
Authentic Thai taste !
by thai_enjoy
The food here compare to the other restaurants in San Francisco is considered one of the most Authentic Thai for me...and plus it's MSG free. Try the "Laab" - minced chicken/lemongrass and "somtam" - papaya salad, todmun for an very authentic experience. Mushroom salad is also a great healthy & authentic tasting dish. The koong krob for apetizer is also great. The Chicken Karee curry is also recommended. That're the dishes that I had & enjoyed very much.
The service can sometimes be slow when the place packs up.
- Pros: Great food
- Cons: Parking is difficult

Nice casual dining spot
by TheNewTricia
With the plethora of Thai food in San Francisco, it's hard for restaurants to stand out. What makes Thepin a favorite is a combination of good food, a relaxed atmosphere and a super-attentive staff. Not the fanciest place you'll eat, but a great place to have a tasty bite with friends.
- Pros: Inexpensive, Quiet, Casual
- Cons: Parking can be tough
