Dining is such a scene in SF, and for this Southern Californian, Zuni is the epitome: hip atmosphere; pretty but casual patrons; efficient but not entirely unfriendly waitstaff; and tasty food presented well. Had a late reservation here last week. Arrived early, enjoyed a mixed-drink special at the bar, then settled into a cozy upstairs corner for a long, relaxing meal. The roast chicken truly is some of the best around, but the salads (Caesar, redwood lettuce with radish) and appetizers (Tamales Bay oysters esp.) are also excellent.
Pros: Fun atmosphere, Efficient service, Reliable food
